Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Mena

I ordered 2 floats; a coke float and a root beer float. The girl with the long blonde hair came out and brought the floats and told me it was $9+change. I handed her $20. She said "I'll be right back with your change." As she walked off, she looked back over her shoulder and said "Have a nice day." and went into Sonic. I waited, and waited until it seemed clear she wasn't coming back. So I hit the button and asked them to send out my change. They sent out a different girl and she seemed confused about what I was asking for. I explained and she went back inside. A few mintutes later the blond girl came out and handed me my change with an attitude. Both "floats" were basically a cup of ice cream with a tiny splash of the coke and root beer, so I asked the girl if they could add some soda to both. She said they don't do refills. I held my glass out of the window and turned it upside down. Nothing came out. It's a glass of ice cream. I told her I don't need a refill, but we wanted floats, not just ice cream. She asked if I wanted a manager, and I said yes. She stormed off to get a manager. The manager lady came out and asked what I wanted. I again asked for a bit of coke and a bit of root beer to be added to the "floats". She said no! She said they fill the glass half up with the soda, but obviously they had not. She refused to help us. I will never go to that...

A friend and I were passing through on vacation, and decided to stop for cherry limeades with that wonderfully crunchy Sonic ice for the drive home. The order taker was fine, and the carhop was friendly, so this review is just for the drinks alone. Which I wouldn't even write about were they not so strange.

I drink diet, and my friend drinks regular, so we ordered one of each. Thry we're clearly marked, and the carhop told us which was which. We pulled out and both drinks tasted the same. So we went back, they made my friend a new non-diet drink, and it still tasted the same, both had that flavor of artificial sugar, which my friend can't have.

They also tasted like maybe they were made from powdered drink mix. No juicy lime bits at all, had I not taken the lid off to see for myself I'd have had no idea there was actually any real fruit in that drink. They were unlike all the other cherry limeades I've gotten at a Sonic.

And then, the ice was different! I know it sounds dumb to rail on someplace for their ice, but I looooove chewing Sonic ice, and while this ice was still kind of pellets, the texture was different from the ice I've always gotten in drinks at Sonics all over Texas. Maybe it's a regional thing??

Anyway, a sad review for...

Horrible service! Waited 45 minutes while 4 or 5 others pulled in and placed an order then left. I was parked right at the entrance and a waitress even looked at me 3 times while waiting on others and not once checked. I asked one waitress and then walked inside to inquire why finally since she didn't have an answer. The place was full when I pulled in especially after the 4th fireworks show so a wait was expected to some degree. After seeing multiple high school friends pull in and order then leave with their food while I have been waiting I was not very happy. It was after 11 by the time my daughter and I left still hungry and barely anyone left there. I hate McDonalds but I would rather have their food then go back again...unfortunately McDonalds was closed by the time we left. If you want good service and food please go to Cruizzers...
