Had all the tacos. Meat was way oversalted. Could not really taste any salsa verde in the chicken. Barbacoa and Al Pastor were really heavy on the cinnamon. for $5 per taco they could at least have had fresh masa to make the tortillas ("a mano") instead of store-bought tortillas. Chips and salsa are not included. Chips were ok and not too greasy. Best part: none of the hispanic staff (including cooks) understood english, and yet none of the food tasted mexican. Not sure how they achieved this paradox, but kudos to you genius food entrepreneurs.

I'm really not sure who their target audience is? People with too much money who have never tasted mexican food, much less healthy mexican food? Instead of trying to copy Chipotle (badly), they would have been much better off copying Picante in Berkeley (run by Alice Water's brother in law). Food at Picante is cheaper and better tasting as well as healthy (or at least not as overly salted. BTW, how is that even healthy?) Sad to think this is what replaced Rubios at this location. At least the Rubios chain had great baja...

My first time ever going there fairly new they just opened up a few weeks ago I went with my cousin and he likes to try the whole menu pretty-much we got two burritos and nachos his burrito with chicken and mine was Al pastor I thought the burrito was very flavorful and everything inside the burrito tasted very fresh definitely has a Baja feel to it more than authentic but the flavor is still good way better than a Chipotle I would say the nachos were really good the chips are fresh fried are guacamole was very tasty they definitely make it in-house you can tell the difference everybody that was there was extremely friendly and welcoming being Mexican I really appreciated them playing authentic music that my parents would listen to on a daily basis so it made me definitely feel like I was eating at home good selection of beer also have 32oz of Modelo and the dark Corona for the serious beer drinkers I definitely recommend checking them out there a little hidden in the corner of the Safeway parking lot definitely worth the stop thank you for taking the time to read my...

Food was delicious ,fresh, everything clean. My low review is because the costumer service was bad my boyfriend and I, went Last week around 9.30 pm we were looking at the menu, in the nigth shift were two tall men looking at us so bad..like if we were Criminals or something like that. They started to talk about us, and making weird faces to each other. We finally ordered, some girls helped us so friendly. We were eating around 10pm apparently the place was going to close .. but the two men started to close the Doors and they turned the lights off. We knew the employees have to leave because of the time. But in my opinion was no a good way to treat the costumers. We didn't finish eating. I believe there are many ways to be polite with the costumers. Is not necessary to make us uncomfortable, feeling like we have to leave the place without finishing our meal. Hopefully the manager or the owner can see...

Nice new discovery in MP - this clean friendly upscale HEALTHY chipotle style Mexican restaurant really hits the spot. Starts off with incredibly friendly staff, very clean and inviting restaurant. The food is fresh, healthy and tasty, with lots of choices including a huge crunch wrap style burrito (crispy tostada buried inside). The veggies and sides are all super fresh and you can get spring mix lettuce instead of typical chopped iceberg on request. The house crème is a must as the meat (al pastor in my case) was a tad dry and lacked a full punchy flavor by itself (only reason for 4 star). The house crème corn side (Elote) is really nice also. It is important to note the focus on healthier menu options, if you are looking for traditional fattier cuts of meat or tons of melted cheese etc then this isn’t the place for you. Really enjoyed it and will be a go to over Chipotle every time for sure!!!!

Great Mexican place in the former Rubio's. We noticed it was open the last time we shopped at the Safeway in this strip mall but we had already eaten, so I made sure to save dinner for this trip. I had the taco trio with pollo verde, barbacoa and al pastor, all with fajita veggies and pinto beans. Spouse had nachos with pollo asado. Fantastic fresh flavors and quality. Very bright interior design. Guapa's will be a regular stop. I hope they do well and don't get bought out by a private equity firm.
