This is one of my favourite diners ever. I tried their food; it was fresh, straightforward, and not overbearing, which is preferable to me. I just had some ice cream, and it was quite hit or miss, so I rated it four stars. Last time, I really loved the strawberry cheesecake one and thought it tasted alright. It was a touch basic (which is the generality for many of their ice creams), but it tasted more like the real thing than many of their other flavours. This time I bought the pumpkin pie one, but I found it to be a strange vanilla nutmeg concoction rather than being reminiscent of pumpkin pie. It was really just vanilla ice cream, nutmeg, and a little droplet, if any, of pumpkin flavouring, and I couldn't quite make it out, but it also appeared to have waffle cone pieces mingled in. I believe this is a general issue because my mother had the German chocolate ice cream, which she described as tasting mostly chocolate ice cream and very little else. The ice cream here is okay, but I wouldn't suggest it as a go-to as I feel it needs more effort.
Also, this restaurant has been reassembled, and I'm unsure if it's as inviting as it used to be. It was so unbelievably hot in there that my mother and I decided to enjoy our ice cream elsewhere of the newly constructed dining area, which they had converted from a dine-in to some type of sunroom. Hopefully, it...
Read moreThis place is a joke! It’s been a long time now that they have had no prices on the menu. I thought that maybe it was because their menu board was new but nope, cashier said it’s because prices change all the time…! So you go to cashier and ask how much is this… how much is that…..prices are so high I only ask what the price is on two things and gave up. I buy items based on what the price is. I have no desire to stand there and have your cashier take 40 secs to ring up an item just so I know how much it is. While people stand behind me waiting to order! I paid over $5 for a hamburger with cheese. The hamburger was so tiny and flat…I had to go home and get something else to eat because I wasn’t about to give you more of my money for little food. Fries had no salt. They have no salt out to put any on the fries either. I think the cashier and workers are fairly rude especially when asking for the prices. Place use to be really good & you would get a decent portion for the price. Well not anymore. I won’t be coming back and I won’t be giving suggestions for people to stop by. It’s just not what it used to be and it’s...
Read moreToday is the first day we’ve had a chance to come by since the ownership change. The last owners were great, don’t get me wrong, but you can tell the new owners have spent a lot of time and money improving the place. The work they’ve done on the outside of the building looks fantastic! The new bright blue paint job makes the building feel more inviting and there’s way more seating than there used to be inside. Plus, there is a nice shaded area to sit and enjoy lunch now. Peeking inside while I placed my order it looks like they’ve spent a pretty penny upgrading and buying new equipment too. Very nice.
We got the fried cauliflower, steak fries and chicken strips - all were as wonderful as they’ve ever been. We also got a large chocolate shake to share. They are not messing around on those large shakes, 32 ounces of deliciousness. The portions are good, we had plenty to feed 3 with what we got. Great food, super friendly staff and a nice clean environment. I’d give more than 5 stars if allowed. We love this place and we will continue...
