Carnitas Michoacan — Restaurant in Merced

Descent, but nothing to hoot about. Upon glowing reviews from various sources, I decided to give this place a try. I got the asada burrito which came with a side of chips and salsa($4.99). The plus, food was fresh, staff was friendly... however, it was too dry and and everything lacked seasoning down to the ice cold red and green salsa served with it. Which brings me to a certain conundrum. You have a freshly prepared burrito, hot off the grill...only to drown it in ice cold, watered down salsa.. Maybe its a "valley" thing (or is it just me, lol), growing up in no'cal and the bay area, most burrito/taco joints have the sauce inside the burrito already, almost like a molé or enchilada sauce, served hot and juicy, not watered down at all... In all, it's not a bad place, maybe I'll get the carnitas next time. 2.5 stars...descent food,...

MY NEW MEXICAN PLACE !! FOOD IS EXCELLENT & THEY ARE VERY FAST GETTING FOOD READY I HAVE NOT YET CALLED IN OR ORDERED ONLINE BCUZ FROM THE FIRST TIME I WENT & ORDERED THEY HAD MY USUAL TWO MEALS READY IN LIKE 5-10 MINS !! I have lived in Merced for 4 years and not one Mexican taco shop/restaurant has been worthy of returning to until I found out about this place. I don’t know how I missed it all these years. The food is so flavorful and the service is great. The restaurant is clean and there’s plenty of parking if you go during the right hours. My family is from Michoacan and my mom knows how to cook, no other birria has ever topped hers but the birria here is a contender. I am looking forward to trying their carnitas, I’m sure they will be amazing. Try this place, you won’t go anywhere else in town for Mexican food...
