Tad was our server (he was so polite, engaging and knowledgeable) Tad answered all questions I threw at him! He kept up with my coffee and our waters. I love great customer service, (but not just good or just good enough) only great customer service. Tad also said they serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner all day, everyday. Scott (the owner) came over and introduced himself to us. He felt easy going easy to talk to and a nice guy. Scott stated he had a smaller menu so he can make sure to keep the food as fresh as possible. I think right now the choices are perfect. Not too many but enough to mix it up. I believe and age can come here and be satisfied. Also the portions are not too big and not too small, they are just right! 2015 E Child's Ave, Merced CA off of the child's exit, next to Dutch Bros., across from KFC is the address. Scott's Diner just opened on Tuesday November 2nd. You can see that the inside has a lot of potential for becoming a great place to bring the family or a place for the guys or girls to meet up. (Not sure if they sell beer or not) More decor will be needed, but you can see they are working on it. They do have a television on and music going. Not to loud, loud enough to hear not also not loud enough that you can not talk to everyone at the table. My niece and I ordered two different sandwich meals and I was thinking, " wow, they looked placed well organized and delicious" totally forgot to take a picture until after we were all done eating. (Sorry) I loved the fact that I could taste individually everything in my linguica sandwich and how it went well together. I did add mustard to mine as it was just calling my name from the kitchen! The bread on top was a little pain for that type of sandwich, just a little butter with salt and pepper or some garlic salt and butter while being toasted, would have helped. I had coffee and could drink it black and also add creamer and sugar and it was delicious both ways. I chose onion rings as my side to my sandwich and it was the best decision to make. I love ranch with my onion rings but also tried them by themselves and I could eat them without sauce. Very flavorful with just a hint of sweetness. The ranch tasted homemade and not store bought which was a plus! I plan on bringing my family back to Scott's Diner because I actually think this will be our new Denny's. Taste homemade but not like you kids made it, but a loving parent. I honestly can not wait to see what Scott's Diner becomes!

Approaching Scott's Diner in Merced, there was a sense of cautious optimism. Despite the low ratings of other restaurants in the area, this down-to-earth diner seemed to have something going for it. With positive feedback on both service and food, it was time to put it to the test. Upon arrival, the diner was bustling with activity. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, filled with the chatter of satisfied customers. As we settled in, it was clear that everyone seemed genuinely content, a promising sign indeed. Glancing at the menu, simplicity was the name of the game. It had all the classic options that one would expect from a diner, catering to a variety of tastes and preferences. There was something for everyone, ensuring that no one would leave hungry or disappointed. When our food arrived, it didn't take long to realize that the portions were generous. It wasn't an overwhelming excess, but rather a satisfying amount that left us feeling pleasantly full, with enough left over to share and savor. The taste of the food surpassed expectations, exceeding the standard of a typical diner fare. The flavors were on point, offering a delightful surprise with each bite. It was evident that the kitchen took pride in their creations, and the result was a culinary experience worth repeating. Leaving Scott's Diner, it was clear that this hidden gem deserved its positive reviews. Breakfast and lunch were the standout meals, making it an ideal spot to satisfy your cravings while in the area. The combination of friendly people and good food created an inviting and enjoyable dining experience. If you find yourself in Merced, I would wholeheartedly recommend giving Scott's Diner a try. It's a place where the simple pleasures of life—a warm atmosphere, friendly faces, and delicious food—come together in perfect harmony.

Right off the 99 HWY Very reasonable prices! New diner in town that's making a stand to stay. Great service the food is better tasting than black bear "no offense" portions are decent size, taste is good and the service is really good. Great convo! So far i have been here twice, once for dinner and the other for breakfast. The open face sandwich needed more gravy and a little bit more meat on it. The open face sandwich was real good that it reminded me of the restaurant that used to be in Turlock call "The Red Steer" they had the great sandwiches and portions were big and had people coming back for more all the time! Anyways that's what Scotts sandwich remind me off. Good job! Keep up the good work! Yummy For My Tummy 😈 05/29/2022 Today we came in for breakfast/ lunch right after Church. The diner was pack the wait wasn't to bad at all. We got our food with i. Reasonable time even tho they were pack. Fast service and the food was very good and not disappointing. I order the steak and eggs, my wife order the blast, and the kids pancakes, biscuits and gravy and the chicken tenders, all the food was cook to a great taste. The chicken tenders weren't dry like other restaurants. French fries were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle which makes them yummy. I was able to sample everyones plate and i didn't have anything negative to say. Keep up the good work and the yummy did going!
