Subway — Restaurant in Merced

Great sammich from this location. My preparer did a good job (not like the location on Childs), but a good job. Still tasted just as I expected it would, just not as fat. My confusion came when I provided my digital coupon and this mythical creature resembling a human appears and said, "we don't accept coupons!" Mythical in that this person was NO WHERE in the building prior to my entrance, standing behind two customers, one of which was ordering 5 foot longs, USING A COUPON!!!! So while I'm perplexed over this ghostly being, I didn't catch homegirl putting mayonnaise on my sammich, which I'm DEATHLY allergic to. She quickly made me another sammich, and when asked if they do the point system, the employee, who made my sammich, nervously shook her head no. Was she being watched?! Was the place bugged?! I don't know people! Now you're all prolly wondering, "did you at least get your free Birthday cookie?" No! Because they don't accept ANYTHING digital! WTFF? You may be asking, again, I-don't-know! I also don't know what happened to the mythical creature who interjected in my attempt to ask my sammich preparer about my app coupon. As mysteriously as this person appeared, she was gone. Or was she? Hence the nervousness behind ol' girl's response about the point system. Normally our family loves Subway, myself included. On this outing we were attempting to use a BOGO coupon. We made stops at the Atwater Subway next to Food 4 Less, and the Merced Subway on 16th & G. In addition this rating reflects on an additional location; as we attempted to call both the 16th & G location as well as the MLK Subway next to the Merced Poker Room/ casino prior to our in person trip to the 16th St. location. At the Atwater location we noted a paper sign that informed customers that they did not accept coupons. They received a 2* rating for their upfront-ness and clarity, but in our household it's substandard not to uphold coupons from the circular especially when it's a franchised operation. " I mean, is this establishment Subway or not?" The location at 16th & G in Merced DID accept coupons (kudos) but not the BOGO footlong; so that was disappointing. Both the 16th & G location as well as the MLK location receive their 2* rating because we attempted to call their locations and they did not pick up the respective calls (per #'s provided through google voice inquiry). That is chalked up as poor customer service which resulted in needless out of pocket gas & time expenses to inquire in person. Would've given 0 stars if it were possible.. went in tonight(Thursday) to get food. The 1st lady that was helping me out was nice and appropriate. I asked her if there was bacon since I ordered 3 chicken bacon ranch sandwiches and she cooked them without the bacon so I assumed she forgot or there was none with shortages and all that.. Then there was a younger taller female wearing glasses who was helping with the order tells me "you don't have to be rude". All I did was ask a question in a normal tone of voice(maybe a little louder due to the barrier in between). Either way this lady definitely needs to learn a lot about customer service and how to talk to people just in general. Another thing which isn't really a biggie but the coupon situation is not great they only accept certain ones. No BOGO...
