The Arcane Lab — Local services in Merced

The Arcane Lab is a great place to find a game of Magic: The Gathering, Vanguard, YugiOh, Pokèmon and many other card/board games.

The event support is very good Standard (FNM), draft, sealed and commander being the big ones.

The sell mostly cards for standard and a bit of modern cards aswell. Sealed product can vary, but as far as Magic they always have the new sets, commander decks in stocks and sleeves. Aswell as DND stuff, vanguard sealed product and pokèmon. Binders for commander consists of mostly new stuff with a small variety old or rare* stuff.

I try to buy most of my cards here to support local buisness, but if you're on a tight budget and building budget or trying to find old cards you're probably better off buying it online.

The best gaming shop locally. They run multiple Magic events regularly, EDH and modern for sure, new EDH league starting soon. As a new player to magic it was really disarming when the shop owner offered to help us with a rules clarification and made it clear we were welcome. The crowd that visits is really friendly, made new friends the first time we showed up. Come play and support an extremely-deserving local business.

The Arcane Lab is a great game store, but they focus on Trading Card Games(TCGs). It's important to make that distinction, as many people will go expecting to buy Monopoly or used video games. They work really hard in keeping the temperature a very comfortable degree, and they really push for an active card game community! Especially with other local game stores in the central valley.
