Mello Moose Coffee House — Restaurant in Meredith

This is the kind of coffee shop dreams are made of! Stopped here on the way into Funspot after driving past like four Dunkin Donuts (blech) looking for a local place serving actually good coffee. Mellow Moose could not be more fun and homey, and the people working there could not be more fun and happy. I ordered some of the Christmas specials and the egg nog one they just gave me the whole damned carton like "have fun"! Their bathroom is phenomenal, so big and so nice. Their gift shop is cute and packed with local goods. Their plaque on the wall makes it clear that people who are going to sit on their computers and take up space for hours after ordering one coffee are not welcome (those types are a huge pet peeve of mine personally). Overall, Mellow Moose is just one of those kinds of spots that really does deserve 6 stars even though I can't really give them that. I am a die-hard Starbucks espresso fan. But while in Meredith, not a die-hard enough to travel 30 minutes to get my espresso macchiato. I’ve driven by Mellow Moose a number of times while visiting the area, but they were always closed. Today was my lucky day! I ordered my triple espresso macchiato and brought it back to my hotel room to give it a “shot”. To my surprise, it was awesome! I’ve tried many “other” restaurants and coffee houses espresso drinks, only to be hugely disappointed in not only the flavor, but the price. We came here for their nice coffee and read that they have friendly staff. We are traveling across the country in our Sprinter van, came here at 9am, purchased 4 drinks, a bakery and a gift $35+ tips. They have unfriendly and rude customers. Screaming kids- I reacted because it pierced my ears, staff gave me a stare. Then a local customer commented about our 21' sprinter taking ALL the parking space, as his trucker is 17' long!
