I have ordered furniture from Ippolito's twice, neither transaction was a good experience. My first order for a bed and nightstand was placed, after several calls and being told that the trucking company was backed up, I finally received my furniture over a month after the initial delivery date. I thought this was a one off incident, so a year later I ordered another bed, bureau and nightstand and was told it would arrive prior to Christmas, as it was a Christmas gift. Christmas came and went, still no furniture. I called a few times and each time was given the same reason....the trucking company was having issues, at one point they didn't even know where the furniture was. I was given another delivery date about three weeks later. I then got a call from Ippolitos saying there was another delay. At this point I was very frustrated and they did offer me a small discount for the inconvenience. The furniture was finally delivered. The bed rails had damage, and all six drawers of the bureau had very visible damage. The white bureau drawers had visible smudges, almost looked like wood filler across the front of each drawer. The store contacted me to arrange delivery of new rails and drawers. Over a month later I was contacted and told that the rails and all drawers were in and ready to be delivered, I even confirmed that all drawers were included and I was told yes. My husband took time off from work to be home for the delivery. That afternoon I get a text from the deliverymen that they only had the rails, no drawers. Another two weeks go by and I finally get a call that the drawers are in and ready to be delivered, I spoke with the same woman who called and assured me the drawers were in with the rails initially. I told her of my frustration with the constant delays and now needing to take more time out of work for yet another delivery. She said that the warehouse told her that the drawers were in and then later that day told her that was not the case. I asked why no one called to tell me this, she claimed that she tried calling but my voicemail was full, although I did not have any missed calls from Ippolito's and she could have easily emailed me, but I did not get any emails. All in all, it will be almost 5 months from my initial order until my furniture has arrived, all in one piece, with no damage. Between the constant delivery days and issues I do not see myself ordering from them again.
UPDATE: It has been 4 months since the owner of Ippolito's responded to my review stating that someone would be in touch with me. To date I have not received a single phone call, email or letter from anyone at Ippolito's to address my issues. And to boot, we also realized that one of the drawers that they sent to replace a damaged drawer is not the same color as the others. It appears as though this was posted to show customer service was a priority, but no action to back it up. Very...
Read moreLiving locally in the lakes region, I wanted to support a local furniture business when my husband and I were in the market for some new living room furniture. The store displays furniture nicely and we were greeted with a happy face! While shopping we were greeted and offered assistance. We decided on a couch, accent chair and ottoman. I didn't care for the pillows on the couch and asked if the pillows from a couch nearby were available for the couch I had wanted. I was told that the pillows go with the couch and so we would have to shop for different pillows after we bought the couch. I thought that possibly we could buy the pillows off of the other couch in addition to the pillows that came with the couch we had wanted. The clerk asked her manager who said no. While I was out of an earshot my husband and son were sitting quietly. The manager did not know that we were together and said to the salesperson "why don't they just get a couch that has real fabric "? This ended up being the same person I heard earlier talking poorly about another employee. I entered the room not knowing what the manager had said, I was told I could go online and see if I could purchase the pillows from Ashley separately. I went online while I was at the store and found all the items less expensive and was STILL willing to pay the price to purchase it from a local furniture shop. We both felt unwelcomed (with the exception of the greeter) and ready to make a good size purchase but the lack of professionalism (not by our salesperson) by management, and desire to have our business will prevent us from going back or recommending this store. Very unfortunate. We are not hard people to please, just appreciate supporting a shop that presents themselves better and wants...
Read moreOld Brick is fantastic! Peter, the salesman, was very helpful and the opposite of pushy. I let him know what I had in mind and that I'd walk the entire store before making any decisions and he gave me room to wander yet was always near enough to answer questions. Completing the sale and scheduling delivery was simple and uncomplicated.
Delivery today was perfection. The 2 gentlemen that brought our new loveseat (1 was named Ryan, but I'm not sure which) were very professional and friendly. I loved that there was a bot named Jenny that kept me up to date on the delivery time and even had a map with GPS locator so I could see just where the truck was at before arriving at my house.
If you ever shopped at Ippolito's and thought the prices were a bit too high, go back and check out Old Brick. The store is laid out the same (for now at least) but everything else seems to have improved from where I'm sitting, which is a new, comfy, reasonably...
