I used to love to eat at Filiberto's at 3041 E. Mckellips Road, but now, to put it bluntly, it sucks bad. I went to the drive thru, at approx. 11:30 P.M., and I ordered the Chimichonga with rice and beans plate, and I wanted Carne Asada in my Chimi, and I realized I had to pay like $ 2.00, or $ 2.50 more because it was carne asada, which I don't think an extra charge is listed on the drive thru ordering menu, but not sure about that. I told the girl taking the order I wanted NO SOUR CREAM, due to allergic reactions, and I wanted the Carne Asada. Not one time was I informed of the extra charge by the worker. By the way, F.Y.I your seamless website has the chimichonga plate with rice and beans for $6.79, your drive thru menu has it listed at $8shreddmkull up to the window and the employee says $ 11.63, I am like, WHAT, I reluctantly pay it and I am told, " if you don't like it, talk to the owner in the morning. I get home with my order, and I don't actually do not sit down to eat until just a little after midnight. I open the container, and there in one long three inch wide, by 5 inch slab of sour cream right on top of the chimi, I angrily scrape it off to no avail. I decide to cut this culinary delight open, only to find shredded beef where Like $3.00 extracharge carne Asada should be, so I call the restaurant for a reqplacement for the messed up chimi, tol! I am told, I could not come in to exchuthkge Tonight, and she doesn't care, she just got to work, and I have to tell them in the morning, I said no I am coming in tonight, and she hung up on me, and would not answer the phone at all after that. OMG, am I in NorKorea, because that is nuts. Screw Filiberto"s, the Owners, and most the workers, they can all go to HELL, whatttttt. I will take care of my situation in the a.m. I'M sure, either a new chimi, and serious apology, or a refund, and an apology. But either way I will not ever, ever, ever eat their...
Read moreGot an adobada burrito. Yummy. Adobada pork, cabbage, pico de gallo, and cheese. Put a little red sauce and onion/cilantro on and you are tasting a bit of heaven.
I also like their passole. It is better than I would expect for fastfood soup. It comes with all the trimmings as well: cabbage, pico and raddishes.
One of my normal favorites is the Texas burrito. Chicken, potatoes, sour cream and cheese. Every filibertos makes their chicken a little different. If they dont cook the chicken in red sauce, I tell them to add red sauce. If they do cook it in red sauce, having them add red sauce is too drippy. Most of the time I ask for extra cheese.
The 5 rolled tacos with chese and guac is a great fall back when Im not sure what I want. Poor on some red sauce and you are set. Be sure to get a spoon to help glide any runaway guac back onto the taquito.
Salsa bar at filibees is something that you should take your time to get the most of. If they have cut cucumbers on the bar, get a baggy, add your cucumbers into the bag, squeeze a couple lemon slices over them, add salt, close the bag and shake. If you feel adventurous add some red sauce. If I stop for breakfast, I get plenty and nibble on them through the day. If you do, dont add the red sauce.
Some filibertos have complimentary corn chips. So I put the chips in the paper trough as well as the salsa in a seperate one. I like lots of sauce on my food, so grab a spoon to ladle on the sauce from your trough.
Taco Tuesday is fun. Again lots of sauce. Ask them to put it in a togo container. Then as you eat and the lettuce and cheese fall back into the container you carefully push that aside. That way when you finish your tacos, you just add a little sauce to your lettuce and cheese for the taco salad agyer party. Works best in the togo container.
If this helps you in your Filiberto's adventures, please...
Read moreWent through the drive thru 15 minutes ago and was waited on by an extremely rude and high employee who didn't care or even listen to my order. I was charged $9 EXTRA for sour cream and cheese on the 2 burritos I ordered and got plain burritos! I want my money back! On top of that, I had a gift card that I wanted to use with $25 on it, I handed both my gift card and debit card to the window employee and she handed me back the receipt without say a word. I looked at the receipt and saw she didn't use my gift card. I asked her if she used the gift card, and she said it was declined. Then she handed me a drink that I didn't order, and as I was trying to tell her I didn't order a drink, she turned away as if she was too high or drunk to notice I was talking to her. When she came back with my food, I explained to her I didn't order the drink she gave me, and she said oh and took the drink and never said anything else. This was my first time ordering Filiberto's, and I will never order from...
