I have only ever been here once. That day was February 5th 2017, or better known as; the day a modern day miracle occurred. Super bowl 51 featured the New England Patriots vs the Atlanta falcons and Tom Brady was competing for his 5th super bowl ring. Anything that could have gone wrong did go wrong for the Patriots in the first half as they found themselves down 21-3 at halftime. Myself, much like most people watching had turned the channel as it was safe to assume this game was over. Near the end of 3rd quarter, the falcons had a commanding lead of 28-3. Instead of the conversation being, Tom Brady has a chance to be the greatest quarterback of all time, it is now evident to all watching that title still belongs to 4-0 joe Montana as Tom is only 15 minutes away from being 4-3 in super bowls. Then? As the Bible prophesies, Christ began to rise. Within 15 minutes, Tom had willed his team by the grace of God to 25 unanswered points (a super bowl record) and had his team in overtime of a super bowl they had no business being in. As I was driving my 2017 Hyundai accent, I listened intently as the broadcasters announced touchdown after touchdown. I knew I had to get to a TV ASAP. Garcias was the first place I came across that I knew I would be able to witness this resurrection. As I frantically ran inside and rushed to the bar, I was surrounded by strangers that I had never known, but in that moment everyone in that room was whole, and I felt like I had known these people my entire life. They embraced me as we all laid witness to the miracle prophesied. He had done it. Tom had pulled off the unimaginable. The atmosphere in the bar that night was something that can only be described as transcendental. I’m not sure if I will ever come back here, but anytime I ever pass this place. I will be sure to let whoever I am with know that this is the site I saw a modern day...
Read moreMy husband and I were having one of those nights where don't know what to cook and we just don't want to cook... And since we're still a little new to the area, what better place to try that has all the cars parked in its lot... Garcia's!!
First of all, parking does suck, but I'm sure we have the contractors to blame. I think it may depend on the time and day that you come to eat here but we arrived on a Wednesday night, right in time for dinner rush.
The hostess was very nice, I didn't quite catch her name but we were able to be seated promptly with no wait. The restaurant is very well for indoor and outdoor dining. It was a decently full house inside. We were seated in a booth.
Once we were seated, we were greeted by our waiter, Isaias (hope I'm spelling his name right), who brought us water and also took our drink order. Following him, came a nice lady who brought us our chips and salsa and also a delicious bean dip. My husband ordered a Fajita platter and I chose Olivia's Sampler which came with a variety of mini tacos, flautas, chimichangas to try. It was very tasty, more than I expected this restaurant to be!
Isaias took care of our drunk refills, made sure we had chips and salsa all before we were about to run out. And he wasn't overbearing the way some waiters/waitresses can get (you know those ones that's ask you how's the food when your mouth is full... Yep, I know you know.). When we reached our limit, he even came over with to go boxes without us mentioning it!! He made our visit extra awesome, when he came back with our bill to sign along with chips and salsa readily packed to go, and two cups of soda. The extra step was a nice and unexpected gesture!!
We will definitely come back to eat here and I definitely recommend this place....
Read moreOverall, everyone enjoyed their food, but I'm just going to opine on my meal since my three other guests aren't available for comment.
I chose the 3 item combo including a cheese enchilada, tostada and shredded beef taco. The flavor of the beef was outstanding... a noticeably delicious "special" flavor that was generous enough you could taste that special flavor in every bite, along with the fresh lettuce and blend of cheeses sprinkled generously on top. I'm not sure how they prepare their shredded beef, but it was tender and melted in your mouth. The cheese enchilada was pretty much the same as any from other restaurants... no real wow flavors, but was good and the sauce not too spicy. The tostada was disappointing in that it hardly had any refried beans which were spread unevenly across the tostada shell. Granted, I had specifically requested they "not pile so much beans and lettuce that the ingredients end up on my lap", but there's a happy medium they failed to achieve. It just would have been nice had the thin layer of beans been spread across the entire shell, instead of just 2/3rds of it. But the overall flavors were good in the bites that included beans.
The service was adequate, even though certain requests were ignored, however they were very busy, and our server was very friendly.
We'll definitely return to enjoy more options, which will, without a doubt, include their absolutely delicious beef tacos! I just pray that beef flavor never changes. In fact, I'll probably order everything that has their delicious shredded...
