I’m disappointed to even be writing this review, I’ve come to salsa cabana for years now and have always loved their food. I never ate there and was let down with the flavor or the service, however the last time I went was to pick up a Togo order for fish tacos. When you go to google to see the menu, it takes to to the Facebook page which states fish tacos for 1.75. I placed my order for 7 tacos and some nachos, I always found it odd that they never told the total over the phone for the order but once I got in and my total was 34$ I was very confused. I asked about pricing and was told they are actually 2.75 when the regular price is 3.50. No where did it state the price and I was not expecting such a high amount for a smaller order. I paid and left, I called back because my friend stated she also thought that was a lot since she herself goes regularly. When I called back to confirm the initial person was not sure what to say and eventually someone else got the phone that was rather rude. I explained their website is incorrect and that their prices don’t match in store so I spent a lot more than anticipated. I was told that when walking in there’s a sign at the register that states it, but I called my order in to go clearly I didn’t place it in the store, which I already explain. I was then told that the website is not theirs, that there’s no affiliation so I was wrong. I told them the number I called was from the website that “wasn’t theirs” and she said it must be the previous owners and not theirs. (Even though she stated that they have been the owners for years) She told me I don’t know what you want me to say when the website isn’t ours. The whole time it felt like the woman was irritated with the conversation, and repeatedly tried to hang up while I was talking. I wasn’t expecting such a rude attitude when informing them, if the site isn’t theirs I would think they would want to know. Clearly the website is theirs, I’m not sure why there needed to be an argument about it when it is very clearly linked together, it felt like she didn’t want to take accountability or even apologize. The whole time the phone was on speaker and my friend who went with me to pick up the order was just as shocked at how rude the woman who I can only assume was the manager was, I work in food too I by no means was trying to be unreasonable but her attitude was horrible.
As far as the food goes I think they do a good job at making authentic flavorful food. Like I said I’ve never been disappointed with the quality of food but will not be returning to be spoken to in that...
Read moreI never knew this place existed and I was intrigued to check it out after reading all the great reviews.
We stopped by on Saturday for an early dinner and it wasn't at all busy. The have a lot of different items on the menu and they have combos as well. We ended up ordering one posole, a three gorditas plate, and a taco combination plate. The combination plate came with two tacos, rice, and beans. We also ordered two drinks and a michelada. Our total was close to $40.
We sat in a booth towards the back and waited for our food. The salsa bar was nicely stocked and had a few different salsas to pick from.
Chips were brought out to our table by one of the employees and our food was brought out one by one.
I ordered the posole and it was pretty good! I threw all the garnishes on there and bam it was delicious! Oh and I also ate it with chips. My friend had the three gorditas plate. He ordered one carne asada, one carnitas, and one chicharron. He liked them all expect for the carnitas. He said that meat had no flavor and was super dry.
My other friend has the taco plate making one of her tacos chicken and the other carne asada. She preferred the chicken over the carne asada.
The salsas were too watered down for our tastes and the pickeled onions were on fire, beware!
The employees were friendly and the tables were clean. I would be back again for some...
Read moreWe are vacationing in the Phoenix area, and we just finished a delicious and affordable lunch at Salsa Cabana Mexican Grill. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza about a mile south of the Commemorative Air Force Museum. It is a clean, welcoming, and bright space, with seating for over 70. The staff is friendly, willing to answer questions about the menu, and genuinely care if you're enjoying your meal.
Chips and salsa come with your meal, and the options at the salsa bar were delicious. (The mild salsa has some spice to it, so if you're sensitive, I recommend the pico de gallo, which has no chilies or jalapenos.) Each meal is made fresh to order, and my husband and I both enjoyed our meals--the quesadilla with steak, cheese, and veggie mix for him, and the seafood 3 taco plate for me.
If we lived in the area, this would become one of our go-to places for Mexican food. We will definitely return on our next...
