We have been going to this Whataburger for over 20 years and the quality of service and food has taken a slow decline throughout the years. We always go back hoping for the very rare chance that we’ll have a positive experience, but those experiences just have all been negative lately. You would think for the money you pay for the food you would at the very least get your complete order, but that never happens, or at least the food would be fresh and warm, but no, we can’t ever expect the very basics from this establishment. An example would be our visit today. We order our meals, nothing complicated, we always try to keep our orders simple because we know from the past, that once we start customizing our order then we never get what we ordered and end up disappointed. So we ordered 3 combo meals, a kids meal, an order of onion rings, and an apple pie. We requested no changes on the meals, just however they come. We get our food, check our bags, and notice we were missing the onion rings and apple pie. My husband goes inside of Whataburger clearly frustrated because having a drive thru is pointless if you have to get off and go inside for the rest of your order. One of the young men behind the counter rudely expresses his dislike for my husbands attitude at which point my husband replies back that he didn’t like him. We get the missing onions rings, but not the apple pie. Once we get home and start eating, the fries are cold, the burgers are cold, the onions rings were so overcooked that there was no longer an identifiable piece of onion in there. We had to put the burgers in the microwave just to have them warm enough so the cheese would melt. We paid $35 exactly for a meal that was mediocre to say the least. Looking at the bigger picture, it’s disappointing that this is the type of product and service they provide especially during times like this when many families are experiencing financial hardships and still continue to keep this business open by spending hard earned money here. The least they could do is provide food that meet the minimum standards. This Whataburger doesn’t deserve our...
Read moreThis is my first time having Whataburger. They don't have them in the Pacific Northwest.
I normally avoid carbs, but tonight I decided not to. I'm sure I'll probably crash when I get back to my hotel, but it is what it is.
I still needed to hit my protein goals, so I kept that in mind. I ordered a Whataburger Patty Melt (49g of protein) and a Triple Meat Whataburger with cheese and add jalapenos (roughly 65 grams of protein). 114 grams, total.
The patty melt was perfect. Not really sure what else to say other than I want another.
The Triple Meat Whataburger was excellent as well. My eyes were bigger than my stomach today because that was difficult to finish. It's a pretty big burger! Next time I will ask for no mustard, though. They went a little heavy on mine.
The fries tasted pretty good. A little saltier than I typically prefer. Aside from that, I'm curious what they were fried in, because they tasted pretty good.
I also got a medium Banana Pudding Shake. It's a limited time and I like bananas. This tastes more like banana flavored laffy taffy than an actual banana. If you like artificial banana flavor, you'll like it. If you don't, you won't. I do, but I would have prefered real bananas.
The staff was friendly and patient with me while I figure out what I wanted. I wish I had caught the name of the lady who assisted me as she really was helpful. My only complaint in regards to the service is that I wasn't given (or offered) my receipt.
The lobby wasn't spotless, but I wouldn't call it trashed, either. They weren't super busy while I was there, and they definietly had enough staff on that someone could have easily gone out and wiped down tables.
The men's restroom definitely needed cleaning. No one had gone in while I was there and when I went in at the end of my visit, someone had urinated all over the toilet and also didn't flush. Not really the staff's fault, except that there had been ample time for someone to go in and clean it.
Would I recommend this location? Will I be back? Sure, but I'll probably use the drive...
Read moreWhataburger has long been a favorite of mine. It's pretty hard to mess up such a simple formula. But the last three evening orders have progressively gotten worse - food quality and service. I am focusing on my last visit. I HATE to be THAT GUY. I was exhausted from a very long day. I just wanted some food to take home. I ordered a very typical Whataburger order - nothing complicated and scheduled to pick it up from curbside. My window of time was about 8 minutes away, so I took my time - just to make sure everything would be ready. I arrived at the very end of my window, picked my slot, and waited for my food to march out, carried by a friendly face. 20 minutes later, I'm STILL waiting curbside for my food. I shut everything down, and reluctantly head indoors. There is NOBODY in the dining area, two guests at the counter - both waiting for orders. And about 4 or 5 people running around like they had never worked in a fast food restaurant. Apparently, one of the ladies ordered a couple of large bags of food - and hers was the top priority. When I was finally acknowledged, I asked about my order. Turns out it was ready, minus drink, and sitting on a shelf - just sitting there. How long? Who knows. I wanted to just cancel the order, but had no faith in this crew's ability to process a refund. Then I was told they were shorthanded. I stayed silent. It looked like there were just too many cooks in the kitchen and no leadership. The next suggestion was to make the food over again. The thought of waiting another 30 minutes or so was not an option. I asked for my drink and got the heck out of there. Of course, Whataburger is best fresh. By the time I got home, the fries had lost their crispiness. And the burger was a little damp. Whataburger is not a meal you trust to heat lamps. If management reads this, please closely examine your evening crew. Because I can go to a dozen restaurants further from home than Whataburger, order food and be back home faster than my most recent experience at...
