Blu Gin Restaurant and Lounge — Restaurant in Miami Beach

Don’t eat here: Worst restaurant, seems like most people have had the same experience. Only ate here because it was in the condo I’m staying at and needed something quick. They have all these stupid rules about when you can eat what, the food is frozen and pre-made and over priced. They won’t make any accommodations or substitutions, claiming they can’t because they don’t have the ingredients and if they do their boss who is “at home watching the cameras” will… do what? They didn’t say. For example, I came at 10:30am and wanted a salad. I tried to order a salad which is on a separate page from the lunch menu and has no specific times listed on it. I was then told that salads are only for lunch and they have no lettuce in the kitchen to make salads with. When I pointed out that they can make burgers that have lettuce and tomato and a caprese toast that has tomato and cheese for breakfast, the older lady who was taking my order got mad, took away my menu and didn’t take my order. She is super unprofessional and lazy and if you ask her too many questions she will get mad and not take your order. Then I tried to order a smoothie. The picture clearly shows a mix of fruit and the menu says strawberry blueberry mango”, so I assumed it was a mixture based on the words and the picture. Oh no. It’s only one fruit per smoothie. So stupid. Apparently the kitchen is also incapable of combining the fruits, as well. The rules to this place are absolutely asinine and make no sense. No way to remove automatic gratuity except through credit card dispute. Stay away! If you want to call the manager, his phone number is attached, but you can only reach him after 4 for some reason. But based off of his rude and unprofessional responses to some of the negative reviews, I doubt talking to him will actually...

My girlfriend and I were there tonight (a Monday), around 10:15pm. We got told that we will have to wait around 20 mins to get in. I could se that the place was only half full. So, we still waited patiently. We finally got seated and got told that kitchen and bar was closing at 11 pm (it was 10:40 at this point). After looking at the menu we ordered drinks and food right away (10:45). Drinks arrived at 10:55, and I asked our server again if for sure bar was going to close at 11. He said yes. So, we ordered another round of drinks in the spot. My gf and I chatted and then we realized that it was awhile now since we ordered. Finally we got the attention of a different server and we asked about our food and the 2nd round of drinks. She said that it was coming soon. Another 10 mins passed and finally food arrived (at 11:35pm). Drinks came 5 mins later. I noticed that despite that it was almost midnight, the party behind us kept ordering drinks (why we got rushed then to order a 2nd round? If the bar was going to be open anyway until midnight, and we got out drinks 45 mins later anyway). Overall, drinks were very average and food lacked of flavor. It was very simple. Also, I ate half of my meal with no napkin and when I finally ask for some, server got me cocktail napkins. Yes, tiny cocktail napkins for our steak, salad, beans and rice. Definitely we are not coming back and we wouldn’t recommend this...

Yesterday I had lunch at Blu Gin and it was the best experience since I got to Miami.

The host and server were both incredible.

Blanca made me feel so welcome and understood how to make sure I felt special and valued as a customer of your restaurant. She was quick and prompt and always ensured I was good and happy throughout the meal. Also, Lianeth was so nice and accommodating, helping to make sure I had everything I needed as well. They are a great team and work well together to make sure guests and customers feel at home.

Blue Gin is very lucky to have such amazing staff in both Blanca and Lianeth and should make sure they are acknowledged for their top-tier service.

I normally don't write Google Reviews, but I had to make sure I did for Blanca and Lianeth, who are warm and courteous individuals who deserve the praise from Restaurant Management and a raise!

Lastly, after staying a week at the hotel, I didn't know there was a restaurant inside of it. I regret not knowing sooner and I think you should definitely advertise it more and make sure visitors of the hotel are aware of such an amazing restaurant and staff.

I highly recommend it to anyone in Miami as it offers the best hospitality and beach views.

P.S. ask for Blanca's favorite sauce. It's a secret, she said, so just trust her and make sure...
