A Perfect Anniversary Celebration
My husband and I chose Rusty Pelican Miami in Key Biscayne to celebrate our anniversary, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the stunning waterfront ambiance to the exceptional service and incredible food, everything exceeded our expectations.
Ambiance & Atmosphere
We opted for outdoor seating, which was absolutely breathtaking. The view of the water and passing boats, combined with the outdoor fireplace, lounge chairs, and soothing music, created the perfect romantic setting. It felt like a getaway from the busy city —elegant, relaxing, and vibrant all at once.
Service
The service was impeccable. Our server CESAR C. was incredibly attentive and professional, ensuring we had a seamless dining experience. A great example of their excellent service was when our Caviar Frites arrived missing the caviar and its condiments. As soon as we brought it to their attention, they promptly replaced it with a fresh and perfectly prepared serving, which was absolutely delicious.
Food & Drinks
Every dish we had was a culinary delight: • Caviar Frites – A luxurious take on French fries, crispy and flavorful, especially once the toppings were properly included. • Seafood Tower – A beautifully presented and generous selection of oysters, shrimp, sushi, sashimi, and a lobster tail. The seafood was incredibly fresh and full of flavor, making it a highlight of our meal. • Chardonnay Wine & Rum and Coke – My Chardonnay paired perfectly with the seafood, crisp and refreshing, while my husband enjoyed his classic Rum and Coke. • Café con Leche Lava Cake with Ice Cream – A perfect sweet ending! The rich, warm lava cake combined with the creamy ice cream was decadent and indulgent—a must-try dessert.
Valet Parking
We used the valet parking service, which was quick and efficient. The standard valet was $9, and though there was a priority option for $20, we didn’t need it as our car was retrieved promptly after dinner.
Final Thoughts
Rusty Pelican provided us with a flawless anniversary dinner experience, from the stunning ambiance to the delicious food and outstanding service. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a great meal with an unbeatable view, this restaurant is a must-visit in Miami.

Read moreBest parts of the experience were the views and our server, Justin who was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to our needs was awesome and if you decide to go you should request him. The not so great part was the food presentation, the quality of the food and the prices.
The bread that was served was corn bread with jalepino butter. Not bad but not my favorite either. The bread was too sweet for me especially as a start of a meal. We asked for plain bread and butter and were told they did not serve that. WHAT?
A few people ordered salads, which we thought would come as a starter. BUT they ended up coming with the MAIN COURSE!????? Still not sure what that was about. The smoked tomato salad was mushy with no crisp to it…it was loaded with dressing in the center which made for soggy lettuce.
The main courses came quickly but my steak came looking sad and lonely on a black plate with nothing but 3 roasted garlic cloves on the plate. Not sure if they were there to add flavor or to show you there was something on the plate. The meat blended completely in to the plate. Besides that, it was cold! A ribeye steak should come sizzling not lukewarm warm.
The Chilean Sea Bass on top of white mashed potatoes and again blended in with nothing to create an enticing plate.
The sushi looked good and was good I was told
The mashed potatoes that I ordered were cold but our server Justin was quick to bring fresh hot ones as soon as I mentioned it to him. He saved the day on that.
The French fries my daughter ordered were also cold and hard and tasteless however Justin came to the rescue again with fresh hot fries.
With the average being about $75 to $90 per person with appetizers and entree and a side dish (ie - mashed potatoes, fries or a vegetable), before tax and tip and with only 2 people having an alcoholic beverage and nobody had dessert….not a great experience and we will not be running back...
