Update: This credit card issue has been resolved & Blue Highway made it right by refunding my double charge.
TOOK $51 FROM ME AND STILL HAVEN'T GIVEN IT BACK! It's been 3 WEEKS!!!
On Sept 6th we went for dinner. On September 9th, my husband asked my if I went to Blue Highway without him because there was a $65 charge and a $53 charge for the same time frame. Nope but wouldn't be uncommon as we frequent the restaurant for dine in and carry out. Called Blue Highway at 8:30a and the manager wasn't in but they took my name and number and said they would have him call me when he got in.
No response. I call AGAIN at 8:30p because I knew they closed soon. I get that male manager but he gives no knowledgement of me calling previously for him. Regarding the original issue his response was, " Oh yeah, we know about that. It was a mistake with the credit card terminal and the computer guy is working on it." Ok, cool... You're going to refund the money back right? "Yeah." Cool. We're good. I was still in love with Blue Highway at that point.
Days go by. No money back in my account. I call again on 9/14 and get a female manager. At this point my frustration is getting elevated mainly due to their lack of communication with me about the issue. Passes it on to the male manager, Shell.
But of course, no call AGAIN from Shell. The next day (9/15) I do get a call from a female manager who promises they are working on it (whatever it is, it's not a hard thing, refund the money. I even offered to bring my card back in). She did offer to make it right but "taking care of you" the next time we came in. Ok, cool. I can live with that. I appreciated her effort to make it right.
We go in the next day for lunch. Naturally no one knew of her offer to "take care of us. So they got another $44 out of me. At this point I'm aggravated but honestly the conscience of Blue Highway, especially when you live outside of town is enough to make anyone put up with crappy service and high prices. So we pay and leave.
I left the country and just got back today (9/25). Muscle memory makes me dial Blue Highway for take-out but then my husband reminds me they STILL have not given us back our money. Three fricken weeks later and I'm still out $53. I call, AGAIN. I get another "manager" who claims all the money has been refunded. She's shouting to someone in the background trying to get the issue figured out. Completely lacking professionalism. Attitude in her voice, like I created this issue. Yet again she passes the issue along to Shell, the one who never calls back. This time she doesn't even offer to take down my name or mumber. Just says to call back... Clearly showing her professionalism and experience in customer service. Great choice in management Blue Highway.
Soooo anyway...Ok, good ol Blue Highway. I hear you loud and clear. You don't care if you loose local customers. Just rely on the ones who are passing through town. No problem. I'll just call AGAIN for the SIXTH time tomorrow in what will probably be another failed attempt to get my money back. Next step, driving my butt down there and demanding to speak to the owners. They use to be local, I assume they aren't anymore because there can be no way they would all this to be happening. They had so much pride in that place 10 yrs ago but it's clearly gone away with hiring lackluster managers who will surely drive the place...
Read moreMy best friend, a Gainesville resident, took me to have a Blue Highway experience twenty years ago. I say "experience" because that it was it truly is. A small venue on the side of a major thoroughfare can quite easily be overlooked. Don't! Again, I recently had the opportunity to have lunch at the Blue Highway location in Micanopy (It will always be my favorite.) Nothing has changed in 20 years. And, that is good. From the moment you walk in you feel the ambience of genuinely nice people who want you to have a good time and enjoy a wonderful meal. Try the Blue Highway salad with those secret recipe toasted pecan generously tossed in. The smell of the pizza will have you salivating well before you make your selection. And, selections they have to satisfy the most discriminating customer. I talked very easily with my server (Fred) as well the the young man who prepared my meal. They made my time at Blue Highway (once again) memorable. I hope if you read this review to the end (in addition to the many others posted) that you will give this establishment new and continued business in the future. Blue Highway deserves to be...
Read moreThis was our go to spot, hidden little gem. They had issues with the dough but still charged us for a pizza that was like cardboard (Did not rise even after 2 times). I felt like I was apologizing for them. Kitchen staff appeared annoyed with us for this issue. To be fair we have been there a handful of times and always been blown away with food. this one here just left a really sour taste.
I appreciate your response but when they brought it over and it had the same cardboard look and taste I was shocked that nobody even offered to take it off the bill. I was only making jokes because we felt so uncomfortable with the way the kitchen was looking at each other. If you noticed I also gave our server a very good score the service wasn't a problem. I leave these type of reviews for management and I appreciate your response this is not to knock on you guys if you noticed I've said this is the 1st time this has ever happened. But as a business owner myself I make sure that if something is not a 100% we don't let it go out and charge...
