I am very disappointed. I’ve been a customer at Harrys for more than a decade as well as Fishers and The Diner. I actually worked for Dave Fisher at The Fireside grill when he owned it. He has owned multiple restaurants in Middleboro , including the chicken house, the Tuscan house all of which I’ve been very supportive of and The Cabin and used to go to all the time until he sold those. I can’t imagine he would think that the treatment I received was acceptable. I am an extremely picky eater, and only like certain things certain ways. I also have food allergies. I’ve been getting takeout as well as going into the restaurant and eating outside with my friends and family for years and years. I recently called for takeout to get a chicken fajita. I asked for it the way I always do no green peppers. Just red peppers as green peppers upset my stomach. I was told that they could no longer do this for me. I don’t know if it’s a price problem or what the problem is. I asked what the problem was and I was told that’s what they were told. Going forward at a meeting and that I could call and discuss it with another manager if I wanted to today, which I did he didn’t seem to have a reason why either. He said I don’t know if it’s because they’re all mixed together or if it is a price issue which I had already stated if it was a price issue, I would pay extra for the red pepper. They have been very accommodating in the past and I don’t understand the problem. I told the manager I wouldn’t be going to Harrys or The Diner any longer and that I’m very upset. He will why don’t you think about it and give me a call back later there’s no reason for me to call back later At this point, I’m pissed. As prices go up, people are going to go out to eat less and less I think you should treat the people that are completely loyal to you whether it In your restaurant a little bit better than that I really hope this is raised Dave Fisher Can’t imagine he would think this is ok. I wish you all the best, but I am never coming back...
Read moreNice place, delicious fries. Everything the rest of my family got to eat was apparently delicious. But I made the mistake of ordering a blackened haddock burrito (instead of fish tacos - d'oh!). The MASSIVE burrito was stuffed about 95% full with rice, the small amount of fish that was in there was overcooked, extremely dry, and I could barely detect any blackened seasoning at all. So, flavorless, dry, and just overall unpleasant. I couldn't bring myself to eat more than a few bites, though I did open the burrito up and dig around a bit to make sure I wasn't just missing some other ingredients that might have been tucked away in a far corner or something. No such rewards awaited me. I'm generally loathe to complain at a restaurant about the food, and I almost never send anything back, but I found the blackened fish burrito to be inedible, so I sent it back. The waitress was gracious and apologetic (of course it was not her fault). She removed the burrito from our tab, and even though I opted not to order anything else (the rest of my family was already finished eating by this point), she brought me a complimentary plate of their delicious fries, which I brought home and enjoyed very much. I'll reiterate that my family found everything they ordered to be quite delicious, and our overall experience here was quite lovely indeed. We sat outside and enjoyed a view of the river flowing by. I guess I just wouldn't recommend getting a burrito...
Read moreAwesome local townie bar. Really! The kid next to me was obviously on his first date and "was trying to be a cop a couple years ago" and the bartenders daughter is "like the best pitcher. She pitched several no hitters" (read in the perfect south coast/fall river accent)
It was Thursday night and it was BUSY so the place must be damn good. I had to wait for a seat at the bar. Tall beer and wings for me please and thank you.
So I got the wings obviously. They are par boiled, sauced, then baked here. So keep that in mind they come out with a dry skin (but not dry inside). If you want the saucyness ask for extra sauce on the side. I got mine well done/extra crispy and they were great with some sauce on the side.
PLEASE NOTE they count three wing sections as 1 wing so 12 wings is more like 24 elsewhere. I didn't know this, hence the picture of the to go pizza box.
These are no deep fried wings so keep that in mind. They're good but might not be for everybody.
The bartenders are very nice. It was wicked busy early in my visit and they were nice as can be and came to see me as much as they could (I get it, the place is swamped, I'm not expecting a personal servant) I didn't go without beer and got my wings in a timely fashion.
If you're in the area...
