Returned last week on a sunny day to sit outside and try their Fit Menu. Ordered the garlic & herb marinated steak skewer for my app, and the simply grilled salmon for my main, substituting the brown rice for a baked potato. The three skewers were perfect in flavor, doneness, tenderness and char. The salmon was moist, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Portion size just right. The green beans were undercooked so I took them home to cook later, and the potato was a tad dry but that's more due to eating it without all the fun stuff when you load them up. My partner enjoyed both the red sangria and the white with his app and main. Each have Curacao, agave nectar, fresh lemon and pineapple juice, a fruit purée and a hard alcohol mixed in with the wine. The red has dark rum and the white has blueberry vodka along with champagne. Tasting the two sangrias, I prefer the white. The buffalo chicken eggrolls were impressive. Shredded chicken blended with cheese puts a creamy interior into their crispy fried shell. The serving is big and could easily be shared by two or three people. The Seafood Paella with shrimp, mussels, clams and calamari on yellow rice was hearty, balanced and well-cooked. A nice meal. We did think it could use a little more broth, however. Maggie's has a big menu but we appreciate this as there is so much to choose from and enjoy each visit. If you haven't been here yet, look it over online before you come dine for an idea of what to order. Happy hour is 4-7 Monday - Thursday. # Maggie McFly's to me has always been a place that serves everything you want to eat but shouldn't - perhaps their marketing people realized this, too, so our visit the other day included a Fit Menu, which listed with each menu item not only calories, but carbs, protein and total fat per serving. Love this idea! For the moment, we hadn't eaten all day and agreed to do this in the future. We chose to sit outdoors on this sunny spring day and ordered two cocktails, a Negroni and the Sazerac, an app of steamed edamame, three combo tacos and the Dim Sum platter. Edamame was perfectly cooked - steamed and hot with the right amount of sea salt on top served over bibb lettuce. The standout taco was the pulled pork. Tastes just like a fine carnitas. The ahi tuna was overwhelmed by the shredded cabbage (though it seemed like jícama) and there were only two shrimp in the camarones; accompanying sides of charred chickpea quinoa corn salad and yellow rice were delightful, though both don't need to include corn, as some people can't eat this vegetable. The Dim Sum combination had two moist and flavorful Korean BBQ ribs, six well-cooked chicken potstickers, two chicken skewers, and four slices of spring rolls. This dish is served with two dipping sauces: garlic soy and Thai peanut. Everything was very good. # This is a big stand alone restaurant that has two levels of seating, a bar in the center of the first floor and plenty of designed decorations to visually entertain their patrons, like hanging airplanes from their high wood ceiling and vintage posters. At night there's no missing it as it's lit up like a white Christmas tree. We stopped in for a late snack and coffee just before 11 p.m. when their kitchen closes. The bar bites menu has a variety of choices for five, six or seven dollars each. We chose the truffle fries and the trendy Philly cheese steak egg rolls. The only hot coffee they had left was decaf which was fine with us. Both the fries and the egg roll were well-prepared and warm. My partner has eaten here often meeting friends and says all their meals were always good.

I am a frequent patron of Maggie Mcflys and at numerous locations throughout CT. This particular visit was of my typical experiences at Maggie's with good service, good atmosphere and great food. However, when it came time to pay the bill at the end of the evening my waitress Natalie came to the table to get the check and my credit card to pay the bill. After a bit of waiting, she came back and when I opened the check presenter only the receipt was in there, not my Credit card that I paid with. I asked my waitress where my card went to which she could not give me an answer other them "maybe it fell out, let me check". She returned later saying that she could not find it. She then told me to “just cancel it and get a new one”. I was completely upset at the lack of regard for my situation not to mention I cannot understand how my card just disappeared from the register to the table. This credit card is also one of the heavy metal cards not the plastic cards, so I know from experience that if it drops to the floor, it is quite loud. I feel that she did not take the time to thoroughly look for the card, nor take any type of responsibility for its disappearance. Needless to say, the whole experience was something to be desired and put a bad taste in my mouth. I'm concerned with how this happens when it's the waitress job to take the payment and return it to the table, where did it get misplaced in the process. I do not think that I would personally return to this location after this encounter. **update** I have spoken to a manager on the phone the day after the incident. She was very rude on the phone. I had let her know about the situation from last night where a server ran my card to pay my bill then returned with receipts for payment but no card. She rudely cut me off and said “yea yea, we have it come get it whenever at the bar area”. She made it seem as if I were the one who misplaced my card. That is unacceptable. She did not even apologize or offer any resolution to the situation. I will most definitely not be returning to this location. I am very disappointed in how this situation was handled.

We thought we would give Maggie McFlys another try. The past couple times we were there the food was not good at all and the prices were high. But we decided to try one more time since it has been a while and were hoping for a better experience. We even decided to order something that was hard to mess up. We ordered the Nacho platter with beef $20.00 and a crock of French onion soup $10.00. Unfortunately nothing had changed and we were very disappointed. The nachos were very oily as if they dumped the ground beef on it with oil and all. We only ate about a third of it trying to pick out all the dryer pieces. The French onion soup was not hot. It was Luke warm and very dark. Maybe too much Sherry wine. I left most of it. The server Logan was very nice. He walked up to the table to ask how everything was. We were honest with him and he offered to speak to the manager on our behalf. We weren’t expecting that and were pleasantly surprised. The manager came over and agreed that the nachos were very oily and he offered to take half off the price of the nachos and he totally took off the cost of the soup. We weren’t expecting any of this and were very happy. He also said he would speak to the cook about draining the oil better before adding the beef to the nachos. I cannot remember the managers name unfortunately, but thank you so much for taking care of us. After trying Maggie McFlys several times trying to see if things changed we unfortunately will not be going back.

I usually have a good experience at Maggies. I have been coming here for many years. However, this evening i was served a rotten salad. I ordered the kale and quinoa salad and after picking out rotten, yellowed (hard to miss) pieces of kale, i recognized 1/3 of my salad was rotten and moldy. 2 pieces...no big deal...a 1/3 of the salad...well that was a lack of care for quality. I called and spoke to the manager and yes she replaced it...but It takes 20 minutes there and 20 mins back. Quite an inconvenience. No offer to redeem the price or a free dessert for any of the inconveniences. I wasn't looking for it, but should have been offered. I am updating this review to say...i noticed that other reviewers were extended courtesy comments from Maggie McFly's. I was not. If I were a restaurant owner and I saw the quality of food that i showed in the pics...i would have gone the extra mile. They didn't. Ok ya all! So, my husband and i really like this salad and thought that once again we would give it a go. 👎 I am not sure what is going on over there, but this time both me and my husband got the same nasty kale. Believe me...there is NO missing it. Just very dissappointed. Both times we did take out!

2nd review: Tried something new as suggested and was so excited to update this review when I saw the food, took a gorgeous pic before digging into the tostada salad- unfortunately that didn’t go as planned once I did. There wasn’t cilantro, achiote, enchilada sauce or guacamole (all listed on the menu description) I asked for no rice and instead the bowl was filled with 90% rice. I finally got to a handful of lettuce at the bottom after putting all the rice to the side. The receipt does say “tostada salad- NO RICE!!” so its clearly the kitchen. If I had ordered a rice bowl instead of a salad I would’ve been in love even though it was missing 4 ingredients listed on the menu. Can’t say I’d like to try again a third time. Hopefully this feedback is helpful in someway. Ordered at 230pm Tuesday 9/27. Older review: Madeira chicken was a miss for me. The sauce was brown gravy, no flavor of Madeira wine at all. Description said “sautéed chicken” but It was actually breaded soggy thick cut chicken. Not sure if what I got was an error or if the menu description was the error. Asparagus was more like a garnish, as there was four small pieces. Mashed potatoes were good.

Absolutely the most fantastic place we've eaten at. Portions are insane. All different kinds of food, if you have a picky eater , or people who want all different tastes, you'll all be satisfied 😌 😉 service was phenomenal!
