La Strega Italian Deli truly has a charming old-world feel that makes it special. I've had the pleasure of trying their grinders, pasta dishes, soups, and dinners, and I can confidently say that everything I've tasted has been delightful. One standout dish for me is the broccoli rabe with sausage; it’s exceptionally well-prepared and flavorful.

The owner of this lovely deli, Anna, is incredibly accommodating and genuinely passionate about her cooking. She engages with customers and brings a vibrant energy to the place. Her staff is attentive and polite, making an effort to meet everyone’s needs, even during busy times.

I’ve also had the opportunity to have La Strega cater for work functions and a small get-together. Each time, the variety of grinders was fantastic, and for the get-together, I ordered a beautifully arranged cheeseboard featuring various cheeses, fresh Italian cold cuts, marinated olives, and The chicken parm, let’s just say It was a hit!

Other popular items I've enjoyed include the eggplant rollatini, fresh pasta sauce, meatballs, and the delightful pepperoni bread chicken cutlets, ribeye, pork loin and all types of variety of pizza, calzones, rice, balls, and so many other delicious food. A highlight of mine is Anna's homemade pistachio cake—simply incredible!

If you find yourself in Middlebury, I highly recommend stopping by this deli. Anna also offers a wonderful selection of pastries, Italian cookies, and well-known Italian brands like espresso cofdie and biscotti. and so much more.

My husband and I are "foodies". We enjoy top quality superior foods. This amazing family deli is just that...top quality!! The word "deli" does not do this place justice. It is a cafe, bakery with a quaint cute immaculate place to dine inside. There are also daily dinner specials, all homemade! Heard all the hype about this place for over a year. I work in the trades and have been all over CT and have eaten at MANY Italian deli's. The food is mediocre at best. Hot sandwiches are microwaved, which ruins the sandwich. I gave this place 2 chances and ordered 2 different sandwiches each time and was left disappointed each time. 100% not worth the giant price tag attached to each sandwich.
