Compadres left me a little disappointed. When we arrived they were nice and we were seated quickly. But then the service was not great, first visit and putting in drinks was a normal speed. Chips got brought when drinks came. But then after that it was quite a while before we were visited to order, and then it felt like quite a long time before the food came out.
Someone other than our server came out to deliver the food, we didn't see our server again until we were halfway done with out food. But we saw her visiting all the tables around us multiple times. I can't imagine we were forgotten, because we were kind of in the middle of all the other tables. So we just kind of fell by the wayside for our server I guess.
The food itself was, fine, I suppose. It wasn't particularly overpriced but the variations didn't seem to be doing much. We each got a Burrito, one topped with guac, one topped with fajita veggies. But the guac was maybe like, 1.5 tbsp just dolled onto one corner of the burrito. It was enough for one or two bites maybe? And the fajita veggies were the same. They weren't really "topped" with those things as much as they just put a tiny side portion of them on the plate. Then we were just left with pretty dry burritos. That weren't bad on their own, but for the price didn't feel worth it.
The weirdest thing was, once our server finally checked in after the food came, she asked if we wanted more chips, because we'd ran out like 30 minutes ago. She left, we were almost done with our food, and she stopped by our table again to ask how the food was, but she didn't have the chips. She asked then if we still wanted them, I assume because we were nearly done with our meal. But like, it had been several minutes since we'd confirmed we wanted them. It felt like she totally forgot we asked, right until she got back to the table to ask how the food was. Then I guess she took us very literally because when she finally came back with a small portion of chips, she didn't bring any more salsa to refill our basically empty salsa. So we just ate some dry chips.
All in all, I wish I could leave a better review. The employees themselves were all very nice. But the service all around just felt very slow. And the toppings and lack of refill on chips and salsa made it feel...
Read moreHow on earth does this place get four stars? It is not in my nature to be a whiner or complainer. We started off with some chips and salsa that were brought to the table. I have never seen such thin salsa in my life. One dip of a chip and all salsa would immediately run off. not a bit of the chunks of tomato and onion you would find in another Mexican restaurant. Horrible. Next, the margaritas that we had ordered arrived at the table. I’m not sure what these drinks were, but they did not taste like any margaritas I’ve ever had in all my years. It was more similar to salt water than anything else. When my shrimp fajitas arrived at the table, they were accompanied by a small wisp of lettuce, some guacamole, and quite literally 2 teaspoons of sour cream. Watered down, runny, sour cream. I would soon understand why such a small thimble of sour cream. I asked the server for a bit more sour cream. Later, I saw that I was charged two dollars for the extra ounce of running sour cream. I ran out of the extra small shells that were brought to the table long before the rest of the food was finished. But, I dared not ask for an additional shell to avoid any five or six dollar charge. My wife had a similar experience. We will not be back and, for the life of me, I do not understand why...
Read moreWe had a group of 7 and were seated in a back room that was extremely cold. I asked if we could move to the main dining room and was told we would have to split our group to sit at two tables. I was told “we don’t push tables together”. There were a few booths that were occupied, but the large section of tables was completely empty, so that made no sense at all! Grudgingly, they finally agreed to push 2 tables together. the first thing the waitress told us when she approached the table was that this was a one-time thing, and in the future they would not be agreeable to putting tables together! She said it just doesn’t work when they get busy!!! In the entire time we were there, not a single other table got seated in that area!!! With so many restaurants struggling, you’d think they would be more accommodating to keep paying customers happy! I worked in food service for 45 years, and another guest at our table owned a restaurant in town for 40 years, so we know what good customer service is. This was not it. As far as food, some thought it was good, some thought it was mediocre. Several of us had to send our food back because the sides were cold. First and last...
