Paul's Neighborhood Bar — Restaurant in Middleton

We went here to get some food because it was late. Neither myself or my husband are big drinkers, so we didn't have any drinks. As it was around 10:30 at night, only their fryers were open, which was fine and totally understandable. We sat at the bar and just ordered some fries and chicken tenders. The bartenders were very friendly, one we learned the name of, Nancy, and the other we had not.

The price was great and the amount of food was also great! Both my husband and I shared and it was the perfect amount. We didn't feel unwelcome just because we weren't drinking. We have since come back and had just as pleasant visits. Looking forward to trying what else Paul's has! I have had their fish fry and a burger a few years back, which were also very good. At the time, which it might be different now, but they had an all you can eat option for their fish fry and they have the classic salad bar to go with... What's not to love... Check this place out. It's nice and local, friendly, etc.

UPDATE: we tried their breakfast was day, not a fan. Stick to lunch and dinner for this place guys and do breakfast somewhere else. Portions were very small, just overall blah. Watched the book go to the bathroom with his apron on, then come back out with it like rolled up around his waist, which was just yeah, not very appetizing and honestly threw the entire experience off. Plus so big and quiet that early, which was just awkward too. No fault on anyone there, just...

Fish Fry Friday. Busy place. Even though not all the eating tables were filled, they told us there was about a 40 minute wait. We found seats at the bar and found we could order there too. The kitchen appears very efficient with getting out all the orders. There were lots of take out boxes! The eating area hosts were not at all friendly, warm or welcoming. The main one treated us like we were a bother. Glad we decided to eat at the bar. The gals behind the bar were better than the others but I wouldn't say they engage the customer either. The young man behind the bar was great -asked How things were going, smiled as he served, was constantly watching the bar and providing drinks, and talking with folks. Food was mediocre. The regular fries terrible, no color no flavor. The Cajun fries were better. The baked cod was great! I would only have that next time. Fried perch was okay. The fried cod was okay. I liked the light coating. I liked that there wasn't a greasy mess on the plate. The restrooms are clean but small. Overall, it was...

NEVER AGAIN! The employees at this bar are absolute trash. My friends and I were drinking at a high top when dinner time hit and we were ordered by a bartender to immediately leave our table so someone could order a $12 fish fry. This despite us pumping HUNDREDS of dollars into drinks and pull tabs over a couple hours and previously attempting to order appetizers with our waitress so we could keep the table. I also explained to the bartender that I have a bad back and couldn't stand around for long periods of time and needed to keep the table. She instantly responded with "I don't care about your back". We ended up leaving a full pitcher of beer on our table after getting booted out (there was no room at the actual bar).

Please do not patronize this bar and reward this appalling behavior. The group I was with agreed we have never been treated more rudely in our lives. I used to occasionally frequent this place but that's...
