Rise and Shine Cafe — Restaurant in Middletown

We were so excited to try a new local spot (new to us) we were greeted and everything was great. Till all of the customers that came after us were served food before us (no lie it was like a family of three and then 4 separate people seated individually) all of which got their plates way before us, which fine it is what it is. But the one thing that was asked which was provolone (my boyfriend literally gags from American cheese) they put it on . Oops no big deal he asked for it to be remade with the correct cheese. The waitress asked the cook “you put not American did you” “no it’s not” They brought him the same sandwich…. With provolone on top of it. We pointed it out and they kept lien , saying that wasn’t American. It was square, so I google it and surely provolone is made in log form. So we both lost our appetite. A hidden gem! I never would have known it was there if it wasn't the only place close by and open on Google Maps. So glad it was though, because it's for sure going to be my Saturday morning spot after a Friday night out. It's super cozy, with a strong small town diner feeling. The staff are so so nice, and will happily strike up a conversation, and the food is exactly what you want it to be. The portions are reasonably sized, so you can get all the things you would want with a regular breakfast, and not leave feeling sick from eating all of it. And it's very well priced too. Been coming here for years. It's incredibly warm & welcoming inside. No frills, plain & simple environment where they'll just let the food do the talkin... The fresh, quality, and budget friendly breakfast here just speaks for itself. I find myself enjoying Rise & Shine's breakfast 3-4 times a week.

In my opinion, they have the best breakfast in Middletown! Friendly wait staff that NEVER stops moving!!! Claudia, the owner is sweet as can be and super friendly & courteous.
