Three of us went to The Cracked Pot on a Friday morning around 10ish. We ended up waiting around an hour and a half for two crepes and an omelette. One crepe was a build your own with four toppings (chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, whipped cream, cheesecake filling), the other was one of their specialties called ‘Slow your roll’ but with the walnuts removed, and the omelette was only topped with bacon and cheese. As for drinks, one coffee and water, one Frappuccino, and one macchiato.
In the wait for the food, both the macchiato and frappe were finished/nearly gone and water was not offered once the food came out. When the food did show up, the specialty crepe ordered with no walnuts did in fact come out with walnuts. This was found out after a bite was taken. While I get that mistakes happen, especially in a busy kitchen, things like this need to be watched for. Luckily, the sans walnuts was ordered out of preference and not necessity due to allergy, but with allergy being so common, this should’ve been caught before being sent out. As for the omelette, it sounds like a silly complaint, but I’ve never had an omelette smell so strongly of eggs? I think it may have been because it was so lacking in its fillings, which as a reminder, were bacon and cheddar cheese. Both of which were surprisingly bland, so it may have been behind the egg smell. I get that omelettes aren’t their specialty, crepes are, but when omelettes and croissants are offered as an alternative, they need to be done just as well— and in the case of the omelette, it was not. As for the last crepe, it came out to order and was fine. A bit sweet, but I suppose to be expected.
One last thing— none of us had eaten here before and are therefore unfamiliar with crepes. I’m not sure if they were meant to be cold but no one was expecting them to be so. If this is the norm, I think it would’ve been helpful to have been told this before ordering. However if it isn’t the norm, I’m sure it can be pinned on the fact that we had such a long wait before receiving the food and placing the order.
My last gripe was the service. While our waiter was by no means rude, he didn’t do the best in assuring us our time was valued here. There weren’t many instances we were checked on, maybe twice within that hour and a half waiting period— and in neither case were we given an apology and/or explanation that the kitchen was busy/short staffed/or whatever. If I was talked to at least a little and told that today was a difficult day, I could be a bit more understanding, but the radio silence on the wait leads me to believe this may be normal— at least maybe for Fridays/weekends.
I don’t think I could recommend this place in good faith— at least not right now. If some improvements to food quality and service are made, this place could be great. The venue is lovely and the decor really shows off its personality. But as of right now, the food and service are rather subpar and not worth the money and time...
Read moreThis was my first time at The Cracked Pot, but due to their amazing food and even more incredible staff we will be telling all our friends and family to join us at this wonderful hidden gem again and again!
While my 16 month old son and I were waiting at the table for our food I gave my son some baby cereal puffs I had in my diaper bag to entertain him. Well unfortunately one got stuck in his throat, which has never happened before and startled I stood up, announced I needed help as I pulled my son out of the highchair and patted his back, dislodging the food and thank goodness he was fine!
When I shouted for help however, it was heartwarming to see one of the many Cracked Pot’s caring staff members, Jessi, rush out to help with my son! I cannot thank her enough for their support in this scary moment! While I was there, I obviously was crying after the incident because I was startled, even though my son was unfazed and happily eating his crepe when it arrived right after! Jessi made sure I was okay, got my son water, and told me how I was a great Mom which was so so so kind because in that moment I felt like the worst!
The staff members were all so nice and patient with me while I continued to get my bearings, coming out to check to make sure I was still doing okay with my son, the dish washer who was a fun and warm gentleman came out and teased with my son to help lighten the mood, and another waitress with dark hair came over, gave me encouraging words, and even gifted my son and I a free strawberry cream crepe with this thoughtful note I included in the pictures below!
From a Mom who has having a terrible day- a huge thanks to the entire Cracked Pot staff for helping make it brighter! It is great to see such wonderful vibes radiating from a magical and loving place, you can tell they put their love in the food too!...
Read moreThis is a great restaurant concept. The food was in fact delicious. However the space is to small for the popularity and customer base. It took 45 mins for us to get two coffees and and a little over an hour to get two crapes in a 16-20 top restaurant. It was in total a little over an hour and half experience. After waiting more than 30 mins for our drinks I went to the counter to purchase one of the handcrafted items they sell. The counter top was covered in syrup. Got all over my wallet, purse and me. I politely let the server who checked me out know. When we went to pay the tab to leave the counter was still covered in syrup and the same serve I told earlier pitched an attitude when I mentioned it again. Overall the staff was polite and friendly. I think the owners may want to consider investing in a bigger restauran to keep up with the growing popularity for their food. Do understand when dinning here you will have to wait 45 mins to an hour if not longer for just your drinks; let alone your food. This is not a fast paced restaurant. It's busy but not fast paced. So do not go there hungry and expect fast food. The food was mostly worth the wait. I give it a two star review because the space isn't big enough for the client base causing extremely long wait times for just drinks alone. The savory crape was cold and the whipped cream on the sweet was half melted. For the server pitching an attitude for me mentioning the counter top needed to be cleaned off a second time nearly an hour later. I do recommend this restaurant. I recommend that you are prepared for long wait times. So don't go if your extremely hungry. Eat a light snack ahead of time. You might want to order water while you wait for any...
