Went to try this place for the first time and must say I was very disappointed. I’m all in and LOVE to patronize black-owned businesses but there was a severe lack of consideration and customer service on my visit. My family dined in. At the counter we were told to sit anywhere. When someone finally came over we ordered drinks. We got our drinks and sat another 30 minutes, without menus so I looked up the menu online so that we would be ready whenever someone remembered we were waiting. Meanwhile, my two youngest drinking up lemonade and I’m thinking I might as well just pay for the drinks and leave because it was apparent that they didn’t care that we come to eat and it was going on 45 minutes! Someone finally comes over and we order, which I’m not sure how we were overlooked several times while they had someone going to other tables. I was a little irritated by this time but still tried to wait it out. Food finally came, we’d been there a little over an hour at this time. The catfish for my daughter and I was in fact delicious. The smothered pork chops for my son was cold and they didn’t bring his side of black-eyed peas. They brought out greens instead and said they would get the peas. Never brought them, I guess they just said he better just eat the greens?! Could’ve just said they didn’t have any or whatever instead of just not bringing them back or saying anything else. Oh let me also say we had to ask for silverware too. It was just all over the place in there. I hope things get better because the food is good and it’s a really big deal to have this kind of restaurant...

Oh my goodness!!! I had gotten so many good words about this establishment, and I was so excited to try it out. I decided to treat my brother and sister in law to a soul food meal here, I was so embarrassed because I had bragged about it before actually trying it out for myself. So we went on a Sunday, got there, and went inside. We were told we could just take a seat if we were dining in. First off, it was hot as all get up in there, we took a seat, set for about 15 minutes, thinking someone would come and serve us drinks, that never happened, so we decided to get our food to go. Placed our order and went back to the car and set in the AC. Waited the 30 minutes for our food, go inside to grad our food, and then was notified that some of the food we ordered was no longer available. Get home to sit down and eat. The food was really not what we expected. The fish was battered well, but very bland, the greens were sitting in a bowl of seasoned water, the maccaroni was so dry, I had to use a knife and forth to eat it, I guess the rice is soul separately, we ordered red beans and they gave us chilli beans. The only thing that was enjoyed was the oxtails, with the exception that the rice must be sold separately. Worst experience ever and was a waste of almost $90 dollars for a meal I could have cooked myself and enjoyed. I probably would have saved a lot of money as well. 1st time I found this place i got oxtails. They were amazing!!! Pickup order. This time I ordered through grubhub. Ordered the oxtails again. Entree only with corn rice and candied yams. And a peach cobbler. First I get a text sayin the delivery would be delayed. Ok fine. Then the grubhub guy calls and puts me on the phone with an employee. Sayin they only do oxtails on Friday and Sunday. OK fine should advertise that but fine.hiw can we remedy this. He says they have fried chicken. I say ok let's go with that. But the fried chicken is cheaper then the oxtails. He asks do I want the meal or the basket. I say the meal. But I say the oxtails was more expensive so if he could throw a couple extra pieces in the order he Says no problem. And he says there is no deserts. Now grub hub already charged me $27 for the food. That's not including their fee and tip. Total was $37 and change. So for $27 I got 2 wings and a leg. Corn and yams. Was no rice was no desert was no extra chicken. So I'm upset. I dont like how the chicken looked. Fried chicken supposed to be golden in color this was brownish. Like the oil was dirty. And when I bit into it. Had Zero flavor.
