Nice facade for mediocrity. Atmosphere was pleasant, staff was friendly. I appreciate the feedback from the owner and have edited this to address his concerns/questions and removed my credentials. We would have enjoyed our stay more had anyone wiped the dirty table we were sat at. There were wet drink rings and a couple of crumbs.. I would expect the host seating us to know which tables are clean and her or our server to notice, especially if Corona precautions are being followed. My first visit to this restaurant celebrating my Birthday. Hoping and expecting a good time on my Birthday and out with my daughter on a gorgeous day. On a first visit I like to observe and evaluate how well trained is everyone. I'm not asking to fix the obvious. We sat outside, when I went inside to use the facilities, I was overwhelmed by a fish smell. My first thought is they're cooking old fish. I discovered they use low quality haddock bits and scraps rather than filets. My daughter had overcooked rubbery chicken fingers and fries. The chicken was rubbery sir, the French Fries were good. I had "Fish and Chips". Actually fish nuggets. Fries were good, tartar sauce tastes like mayo with a hint of seasoning, coleslaw is a teaspoon of chopped cabbage with a healthy shot of mayonnaise. You can get a small salad instead of fries or Cole slaw with a burger (or so they claim in the menu) but they wouldn't let me do that with an entree. I asked and was told I'd be charged for a full sized salad (I can understand if I was subbing the tiny coleslaw but I was hoping to ditch the fries). Little notice was taken by my server that neither of us ate much or wanted a box. I expected to be asked if there was something wrong. Even the ketchup was old and had been married too often. They do make a decent Margarita. Food=2, Atmosphere minus the stink=4 and Service=3 means overall a 3.
To the owner, Eric, if that's your real name: You say you don't usually blast a guest but I notice you have done so in previous reviews where you couldn't appreciate the feedback. You lament lack of detail and deny/attack when it's given. I've noticed allergies are ignored in more than two previous reviews and it's sad if former employees typically write poor reviews as that's a reflection on you.
I wish you a nice life, hope you are successful and that...
Read moreSo, I am a Milford Native. I want this place to succeed. The owner appears like such a nice guy (who didnt want to interfere with our experience [he walked by but didnt say anything, probably because we are a young couple]). I just think my expectations were set too high. See this place is great if youre looking for comfort food, that isnt that cheap. And when i say comfort food, I mean it. But if you are planning on getting wrecked (drunk) the food would be perfect. But for me, my experience was definitely tainted by my expectations. And my expectations were set by the look of this place and descriptions on the menu. It looks like a modern feel and a more fancier than some diner food. My meal and my girlfriends meal were lacking flavor. The fries say seasoned fries, but i couldnt find even salt or pepper on them. Which to me means there was nothing seasoned about them. At least with salt and pepper you can add it yourself. But if it says seasoned fries, you expect fries with a flick of literally anything else. And the fried chicken needs some love too. Its too plain, at least for the look and feel. At least season the flour or even the egg wash. Give the chicken your own twist and let it have some sort of kick of flavor. I could get chicken like that anywhere else, for a little bit cheaper. But, if I drank more this place's food would be perfect. There is a nice looking bar in there. It just doesnt suit the feel and look of the place. If youre gonna say "modern comfort food", at least give it some flavor. Use some season all at least please. It looks too nice for the plain food. But my review is my review. It is definitely worth a try because this place has a high potential. You...
Read moreWent to 603 Grill based on other reviews and needing to be in town. Arrived around 6:30pm and we were seated in the side room that is mostly windows. Hostess was very nice and made us feel welcome. But... that room is COLD. It was uncomfortable enough that we all put our jackets back on to eat, which is not ideal.
We ordered the mussel’s appetizer, which came out quickly and was piping hot. The mussel’s were cooked perfectly, very tender. The broth was delicious. The slice of bread that came with it was lackluster. For dinner we ordered chicken parmigiana, pesto salmon, and butternut squash. The chicken parm was ok. It was not pounded thin, just a thick piece of chicken. Flavor was a little lacking. Sauce was meh. The pesto salmon was served over a risotto with a side of asparagus. The salmon was cooked well, although not seasoned. The pesto was simply plopped on top and I guess they expected that to do the trick. The risotto was cooked good, but had NO flavor and was quite oily. The asparagus was 3 perfectly cooked pieces, with absolutely no seasoning on them. Very underwhelming meal. The Butternut Squash dinner was decent. Good portion of ravioli and vegetables. The brown butter sauce was tasty, but was thin and just sitting at the bottom of the dish. If you didn’t move things to be able to get at the sauce, then the dish had no flavor. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She did get the heat turned up in the room eventually, but it never got comfortable enough to take our jackets off. I was hoping our experience would be better based on reviews, but we won’t be rushing back...
