I couldn't have loved this place more than I did. The pizza is VERY New Haven. It has the crispy crust, the char, and the chewiness that defines the style. The atmosphere is down to earth, classic joint. Not fancy or trendy but exactly what you want from an old school pizza joint. Staff were also very friendly and welcoming.
Because this is a New Haven adjacent spot, I'll give a quick comparison to the other offerings in town. For one, the price was an absolute shock. $18 for a large pie compared to $30 from the big name places. Though, if I'm honest, it wasn't quite on the same level as Sally's or Frank's. By comparison, the sauce lacked a little something and it probably needed a little more salt. But that's if I'm being very nitpicky. All told I'd still as good if not better than Modern. And regardless, for $18 this is a remarkable pizza and eaily the best bang for your buck I've seen in the tri-state area.
Highly, highly...

Read moreJimmy's is our favorite pizza place. We don't care that delivery isn't available. We will drive from 14 minutes away, passing several pizza places and convenience food options. Jimmy's pizza is the absolute best. We love the thin crust, the abundant toppings, and Foxon Park Sodas. Eating in is amazing when we can...not because the charming Beatles and Rock n Roll inspired decor but because we get to experience the crust as it is meant to be. It's crisp and so pleasantly chewy. It's not a heavy bite, just a perfectly crisped bottom to support the sauce and toppings that we love. We are Jimmy's fans and will. Anytime our out of state family visits, we have to eat here at least once. New Haven style pizza is alive and well and delicious at...
