New Haven Pizza Place — Restaurant in Milford

Hello , I am not this person at all but needless to say what i experienced at this spot was disheartening and disappointing. So I have personally eaten at this establishment previously and have nothing but great things to say about there food . Very good quality and tasty to boot. So on Saturday June 1st approx. 830pm I was doing my side hustle of uber delivery. I had a pickup here , Granted I know it is super busy on the weekends I get that totally. But as I walk in I stood in line to wait to get to the counter to let the clerk know i was here for a pickup . I waited patiently for about 2 or 3 people in front of me . I get to the counter standing roughly 2 to 3 feet from it awaiting to be assisted . The cashier then doesn't even acknowledge me and bypassed my presence and then proceeded state to the people standing behind me " Hi are you here for a pickup" . I calmy stated " hello I'm sorry but I am waiting for a pickup as well" I said to the people she was talking to " I'm sorry but I was standing here first and the customer said "no problem you were here first" and then the cashier with a nasty attitude states to me " I didn't see you standing there" . Which is insane seeing that I am a large stature male 6 ft 280lbs. With a lot of big hair very standout, standing 3 ft in front of her . I stated i was here for Uber pickup gave the name , she basically pretended to look brushed me off didn't communicate if it was ready and proceeded to take the person behind me 's pickup order , she gave them there order still didn't communicate with me . Then I ask excuse so is the order still being made she says, rolling her eyes, "yea" and then proceed to grab some cleaning products in her hand and then walk away I waited several more minutes she never returned to the counter , another uber driver comes and receives his order from another staff member , who was a much nicer kind young lady. Then asked I'm sorry what order are you waiting for , I tell her the name and she says sorry it was sitting right here on the counter the whole time. Now I saw this order on the counter since I walked in . The young lady at the counter apologized as i complained about the encounter i had and did say sorry about what took place. So all that being said I was trying to wrap my head around what caused this disservice and personal dislike from what it felt . only few things came to my mind .

She isn't fond of other culture people me being an African American male , and I am not the type to use the race card I go about life with respect for all people and try not to assume everyone is racist . Granted I was the only pepper grain in the salt pack in there . But I am comfortable wherever i go and try not to assume everyone is that way...but she made that hard to possibly bypass ,I felt very uneasy about the whole situation after it occurred . And sometimes it can be just that.

She doesn't like uber drivers for some odd reason and has a problem with that service, maybe from other drivers that might have irritated her.

She was dealing with some personal matters and took it out on me

Just terrible at customer service, rude nasty personality ,in that case find another job where you don't have to deal with the public, there are plenty out there

Like I said I enjoy eating at this establishment when not working uber but after that encounter I don't feel like I would ever want to eat there again. Which is very unfortunate. The girl I'm speaking of was very young probably not even 21 yet or just 21 from the look of her, very short about 5ft 1 or 5 ft 2 , dark hair pulled back in a ponytail. Not very friendly at all. I've seen her before working the counter just looks miserable everytime . If you don't like your job find another one . This is not a good representative for your business I would...

Awful! The worst service.. Maybe I just came on the wrong day.

The wait staff was poorly equipped to handle a large group of diners...even a polite and patient church group...except for the loud, drunk woman who didn't know her limit...not polite nor demure. Heck, the whole venue was too loud and I could not hear my lady...and she was right next to me. Conversation was very difficult to comprehend. The wait staff took drink orders...for an hour maybe... then never came back to take our food order (at my end of a long, long table way in the back against the far wall...where patrons were giving up on living) until I gave a stern reminder to "get it together or get help".

Some of my sweetheart's friends love this place. They must have plenty of money with little common sense...coupled with a lack of standards for expecting good service, quality food, and hiring competent and adequate staff so we would not need to serve ourselves.

[This seems to be a trend in Connecticut: lack of caring]

I will not give this culinary zoo a second try. The church group around me: Please don't ever invite me here again. One lady who chooses the venue for these get-togethers said "New Haven Pizza is fired" Good. They will try a better place.

I have a list of better venues who would gladly take our money and prepare accordingly with adequate staff and common sense.

NOTE: Your stuffed shells contained watery ricotta which you forgot to blend with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. "F" is your grade. It is such a simple dish to make. You failed.

To the Public: Find a better place to eat.

Ok so the pizza is really good. Like really really good. But thats not what I want to talk about. Can we talk about these GRINDERS??? Holy smokes. I had a meatball and peppers today that was hard to put into words how good it was. Bread was a 10. Soft and fresh on the inside, with a nice crust on the outside. Muzz was creamy and just a hint of salt 9/10. Nice light sauce where you can really taste the tomato and a bit of garlic, without being too acidic 8/10. And the meatballs are definitely the best in Miford 9/10. Peppers were ok, tasted like they MAY have been from a jar, and a bit too vinegary for my personal tastes, but still very tender with a slight char on them without being mushy. 7/10 on the peppers. Overall EASILY a 9+/10. One of the best subs I have had in a very, very long time. My friend had a Eggplant parm and raved about it as well. Also both subs were PACKED and a really good size as well. Not sure if they had a lunch special or what going on but we got both subs and 2 cans of soda for $20. Cant wait to come back and try the...
