I love this place!
I would go to Karen again and again for custom baked goods. First of all, whenever I stop by Mill Valley Bakery, Karen is there baking up another incredibly delicious creation. She's always a pleasure to speak with, and she's such a lovely person. I love going into the bakery to talk with her and see what she's created - whatever I get from sweet pastries to savory BLTs on baguettes, it is always on another level of deliciousness and freshness.
Karen made a custom order of apple cider cinnamon sugar baked donuts for our wedding this September, and our guests were raving about them. I've had multiple people ask after the wedding where they can get them, and many told me they were the best apple cider donuts they've ever had! I agree, and I grew up in New England so I've tried MANY apple cider donuts in my life and Karen's are better than any I've ever had.

I had the worst experience trying to come to this bakery for the last 3 years straight every single time I've come it is closed, no signage on the door just the closed sign. I have driven 1.5 hrs each way just to come here and what a damn disappointment.
I even looked up the hours and it says open till 2 pm, I got here at 9:45 am and it is closed, the lights are off.
I don't care if you're baked goods are from the heavens at this point because this back and forth whiplash I'm getting trying to come here is not worth it at all.
Go elsewhere, there's plenty of other places around that serve better goods and are OPEN when they say...

I particularly enjoyed the lemon kouign amann, beignets filled with raspberry jam, cinnamon roll, pear croissant, and spinach and cheese croissant. I plan to try more items on my next visit.
