You can tell a lot about a place and how they handle large parties and the party I was in, (Monday, Oct 14, 2024) was pretty damn large. We had just wrapped a local festival. There wasn't a single flaw in how they handled it. If some people needed vegetarian dishes they brought out vegetarian dishes, with alacrity. This is some of the friendliest and most attentive and helpful wait staff I have ever encountered. We all had to be rolled out of the restaurant. So details. Water, soda water (Pellegrino), ice, and various wines were at the ready, along with the appropriate glassware. Plenty of neatly sliced lemons and limes. We started with the Caesar salad. Most Caeser salads are drenched in dressing or the dressing itself is disappointing. This was perfect, wonderfully and lightly tossed, with thinly sliced toasted pieces of bread as the croutons. We had four vegetarians that are part of one table and they got substitute salads almost immediately. At least almost immediately for a restaurant. There was bread, a very nice focaccia and a ciabatta with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip them in. Meanwhile, many of us are having seconds and thirds on the Caesar salad. Pretty funny because we all knew there was more food to come and all, but damn it was good. Then came the pastas, there was a tortellini, there was a pesto shell pasta, and then there was a lasagna. But I think it was with vegetarian meat. I don't know. Hopefully the restaurant can clarify the menu as I have given them the date. Anyway, people were having fun socializing and dining and remarking pretty much how good the food was, and going for seconds and thirds again, knowing full well there was dessert. And boy was there dessert.. I had the chocolate torte. The kind of chocolate they used is not your typical American chocolate. This was much smoother, richer tasting. Or at least it seemed that way. Next to me someone had the tiramisu. Someone else had the gelato, another had the donut holes. Oh my. The donut holes were killer, with custard and blueberries on the side. We all sampled the desserts as well as devouring our own. And I do mean they literally had to roll us out the door. So if you're thinking of treating your staff or your family, I cannot think of a better place. There seems to be plenty of parking, The view outside is pleasant, the bathrooms are very nice. Easy access to and from the freeway, and one of the cheapest gas stations is just down the street. Again, I need to salute the staff. They were absolutely wonderful. Thank you all! Almost forgot, had the perfect...
Read moreWe came early so sat at the pub and the service has been fantastic. They were able to take good care of us regardless of the high number of to move requests which were waiting and being picked up (to move requests are picked up in the pub ). Certainly many regulars that purchase food to be chosen depending on the discussion of their bartenders and customers picking up orders. When we were all seated, we did not purchase an appetizer, rather we loved the bread using the superb olive oil on the table. The very best olive oil and spice blend we've had - EXCELLENT!For supper, 1 person purchased the margarita pizza that was a rather large size and incredibly yummy. Two ordered that the Lemon Herb half Jidori chicken and stated it was nicely experienced and the mashed potatoes and lettuce topped off it! Still another had the meatloaf that was a massive part and quite filling. Large part and excellent tastes. I had the home made spinach-ricotta ravioli and the waitress indicated half using the lemon sauce plus half using the tomato sauce and I am so thankful I did! Both were exceptional and the spinach ricotta has been SO smooth! No matter how full you're, you need to find the Budino Di Mela!!Anything else are a disappointment! Can not wait to return! My only comment is that our waitress looked somewhat put out that we weren't prepared to order our dishes immediately when we sat down, but we had been seeing and enjoying our time together. After we asked for a couple more moments she only turned and walked off instead of stating"I will check back in a couple of minutes" or something along these lines. The service from the bar was 5 stars but due to this, we just gave the dining...
Read more5 stars to counter the less stellar reviews, as this place is a gem. The brunch is a classic affair with plenty of options, with views of a tranquil pond/lagoon. Awesome, professional service that was friendly but not too inquisitive. We came late, and it does seem they serve brunch quite late... which is good for those couples that like to celebrate the morning in their own way, in their own time. =)
My benedict was awesome, they didn't hesitate when I asked to sub fries for potatoes... I know I know. Not so healthy. But it's a benedict. come on. The fruit plate was divine... all beauitfully arranged in season fruit. My wifes scrambled eggs and polenta was excellent.
I always order a wee bit too much when I try a new place... their cup of the minestrone was delicious, traditional -- fantastic.
Their lunch / dinner menus are excellent as well, as is the bar. This place has become quite the little spot for us. =) Management, service, kitchen - it's the whole package that will soon enter Marin's "go to" book. Marin Joe's, Buckeye Roadhouse, and Piatti. =)
One of the best bloody mary's I have had in awhile. Actually two of the best, and the mimosa was obviously fresh OJ.
Afterwards, we took a hike around Richardson Bay and ended up doing a 6 mile adventure.... so don't hesitate to load up at brunch, because the bay trail is right out the back door and you can...
