First time here. Stopped in with a couple others for a hot beverage and something to eat. It's got great curb appeal on this street. A modern exterior, with a color scheme that is eye catching. I looked up the word "Kuumba," and Kuumba is Swahili and means "creativity." I think that's a fitting word. There is a patio out back for seating, and inside are tables for different sized groups. We found a comfortable four top.

Got a friendly greeting and patience with us figuring out our order. Lots of interesting hot and cold beverages. Not an extensive list of food choices, but ones that we were interested in.

We ordered some hot beverages. I got my London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla, extra foam). Black coffee, and Bright Sunny Day Fresh Juice. A couple of Breakfast Sandwiches and Avocado Toast.

There was only one person working, so it took a little while to get everything made, but it was all prepared with care, and the sandwiches were warm. The pork sausage on the sandwich was ginger maple, but I didn't find it that flavorful. They had several hot sauces available (not a "hot" fan), and I added just a bit to give it some interest. Some kind of aioli would have been a nice option. The Avocado Toast was made with what looked like a spread and had quite a bit of pepper. The London Fog was very good, and they even provided me with the bit of extra that was in the frothing cup.

Would stop again and give it...

Kuumba is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. As soon as I entered the cafe I was welcomed with a beautiful and refreshing energy. The aesthetic is absolutely one conducive to getting creative juices flowing. Speaking of juices, I ordered a Forever Greens Juice and drip Brazilian roast coffee, both of which were perfect. The juice balanced the sweeter and more savory notes very harmoniously. I really enjoyed the fact that Alex and Arianna took time to speak with me; it was a fantastic conversation. I didn't get to look around the cafe as much I would have liked since I was enthralled with the coffee and conversation and needed to get back home sooner than later. That's okay though, this gives another good reason to return soon and try more great...

My boyfriend and I just moved down the street from this place and we were excited for a new coffee shop. The smoothie is decent and coffee is alright. We saw they had bagels for $1 then they rung them up for $5 so I asked about there sign and they scratched off that price and wrote $5 and said "oh man that would have been a good price" which was why I got it. So we took the bagels off but then my boyfriend's coffee came out and my smoothie never did. Then the next customers coffee then the baristas went to the back and didnt come back out. Had to go up to the counter after 8 minutes just to ask them to give me my smoothie that had been sitting behind the counter. ON TOP OF THAT. It was the wrong size too. I had ordered a 16oz and...

My coffee was great & my wife's coffee drink was great too! Owners were friendly and fun to talk and laugh with. Vegan peanut stew with a side of white rice and cilantro was delicious--lots of flavor (especially for a carnivore like me). Chocolate-orange muffin was really tasty with a great texture. Love the ambiance of this place--sun-lit, mellow music, cozy dinning room / coffee-lounge. We will be back! (Wheelchair accessibility seems likely via their locked patio--which seems attached to a driveway. Maybe via calling or having someone go up the stairs to get a staff person to open the patio gate).

I was a victim of road rage on the freeway in Milwaukee and pulled over to meet the Sheriff in front of this business, I didn’t patronize them at all. The owner came out to ask if we were ok and offered to help. I said I’m just glad I didn’t get shot today. He offered me a hug and I accepted. A caring person owns this business. Buy from this man!
