I was very disappointed in our recent experience at Broken Clock. We are members, and have been for 5 years now. Our daughter and son-in-law were already members and talked us into joining back in 2017 even though we live out-of-state. Because we don't live locally, we don't get to Broken Clock all that often. We flew in to Minneapolis yesterday, and I decided to go up and grab our growlers to share with the family during our Thanksgiving Dinner. Just before heading up to Broken Clock I went to their web-site to see what they had on-tap, and it showed they had both Community Kolsch and Unstable Unicorn. We only drink lighter beers like pilsner, kolsch, and lagers and have had both these beers in the past. We were drivinb in from Burnsville, and it''s quite the trek (1.5 hours round-trip) to get up to the brewery (especially with all the construction in the area). Once I arrived, and asked for our growlers, I found that they didn't have Community Kolsch on tap and didn't have the Unstable Unicorn at all. The person serving said I could purchase the Community Kolsch a a 4 pack of cans, but I would need to pay for them. I explained that we didn't live in Minnesota and were only here for the holidays and were just trying to use out benefit. I could tell he didn't really care, and quite frankly he just blew me off. In other words, it was an attitude of ""not my problem". The sad part was that this wasn't the first time this had happened. I had checked the web-site when we were back in the Cities this last Spring, and when I got to the brewery that time, they were again out of the lighter beers. Shame on me for not calling this time, but much of the blame lies on the brewery for not keeping their web-site up to date. Why should I need to call. My suggestion is that you call Broken Clock before you waste time deriving there only to find that they don't have the beers you want, even though listed on the web-site. In addition, they probably need to provide some empathy training to people serving beer (although the guy with the mustache who was serving me may just have been having a bad day - although I think not). Just a word...
Read more6/8/25 Yesterday my wife and I decided to visit Broken Clock to redeem a free beer from our PupPass app. We were unaware of their Sound Wave festival going on so, we were excited to listen to some live music also. However, when ordering our beer we were told that Broken Clock was not accepting the PubPass today as they wanted to “streamline” everything today. Streamline?? What does redeeming a PubPass free beer have anything to do with streamlining? In any case, we purchased two beers. When receiving our beers, I noticed smaller pours and I asked our server what size were the pours. She stated that all pours were 12 oz, not the normal 16 oz. Over $14 dollars for two 12 oz glasses of beer is a little excessive to say the least. It just felt like Broken Clock was being a little too aggressive in making a profit for that day. BTY, we exited after we both finished our $7, 12 oz beers. Just up the road is 56 Brewery or around the corner is Indeed Brewery, both always have 16 oz pours and both always...
Read moreWhat a wonderful experience going to broken clock brewing cooperative was today. We started with having an amazing cappuccino and double shot of espresso, then we had a beautiful bagel that looked like calzone style bagel, then two items that were labeled as pop tarts that were absolutely delicious, and we’re so much more than a pop tart, my friend, and I are still trying to think of what we can call them other than pop tarts. We then had an opportunity to taste a couple of the Tap beers that had been recommended to us cat dad, and then we tasted another ail that I did not catch the name of both of which are beautiful, rich wonderful, aromas, nice effervescence and a beautiful clean finish. Then for a bit of fun we went over and looked at the wearables and of course ended up with a couple of shirts. All in all an amazing experience that could only have been topped by playing a game of pinball which we did not have time for. An opportunity for us to return at a...
