For lunch — Chicken noodle soup and a mixed greens side salad. Food - A savory soup with plenty of veggies and chicken. The mixed greens brought a freshness to the plate with the variety of greens and garnishes. Top it off with a light oil and vinaigrette dressing for a warm edge to the salad. Staff - The staff here is always cordial and friendly. They have taken the time to help me make decisions on food choices and drink options. They bring your food out and provide a clean environment for casual dining. Atmosphere - The seating is varied with table and benches, stand-alone tables, and outdoor/patio options. The vibe is chill and laid back. People engaged in muted conversation and no overpowering music make this a hotspot for a business lunch or doing some options trading. Amenities - Plug-ins are available on a stand-up ledge and there are also a few around the indoor seating area. Bring an extension cord if it is busy. The restrooms are clean and stocked. Always clean tables. You might fight with a few gnats as you enjoy the live foliage.

Desserts are always a treat, but they didn’t stick the landing this time. For some reason, the bacon for my brother and I ended up borderline burnt. I like it more crispy vs fatty, but I’m pretty sure nobody likes brick bacon. I’m talking extra, extra, extraaaa crispy. Maybe they cook forgot to remove the bacon, but it should never have left the kitchen. We also ordered a hot chocolate drink and assumed that it would be brought to us like the food. Unfortunately it was not and it just sat at the counter until after the food came out. What made it worse was that instead of just bringing us the drink, we were told it was at the counter. Like, you know who’s ordered what and if you know we forgot, how about having the courtesy of bringing us the drink with the food? Would definitely go back for desserts but not food.

Cute little bakery on Nicollet. We ordered a piece of eggnog cheesecake, a piece of mocha chocolate layer cheesecake, a carrot cake sandwich, and an eclair. The eclair and the carrot cake sandwich were phenomenal! A must try on your next visit. I don't like eggnog, but the eggnog cheesecake was unbelievably good! The mocha chocolate layer Cheescake had an unusual aftertaste that I did not enjoy, but overall, it was good. I loved the vibe of this little place, and the desserts are definitely worth a return visit.

More of a diner restaurant atmosphere, but with coffee shop functionality. Brightly lit, open and roomy. You could sit with friends over coffee, have a nice healthy meal, or chill solo with a laptop and coffee for the day. The food seems really natural/healthy, and the bakery items are divine. They have the best chocolate eclairs! Staff is always friendly. You can get, well, butter to go. Lol. Bakery items by the box as well, and they sell a few small gift like things- mugs and bags of TeaSource loose leaf tea. Now for the unfortunate part. The Wi-Fi is horrible. The worst of anyplace i've been. They lose 2 stars for the terrible Wi-FI. It seems like they are filtering bandwidth for popular social media websites like Facebook, Instagram and the app store. Every time I've been in here, not one picture will load on Facebook. Instagram won't load. Also the Apple App store won't load. Other less mainstream sites load okay (though still slow) Maybe they need a new router. I don't know, but even a search of my web based outlook inbox took timed out. (It's instant on my phone) Sending an email took 2 minutes. In a day when one can get free decent WiFi almost anywhere, its odd that the WiFi here sucks so bad. I want to chill here more often, but am seriously considering changing my go-to spot to somewhere where I can actually use my laptop. So basically, 5 stars for food and service, 0 stars for internet cafe usability. I'll round up and give...

I'm very disappointed with my experience at Butter Bakery Cafe today. I have been to Butter before and was excited to try it again. I ordered online and came to pick it up at my scheduled time. When I got there, I was told it would be a 5 minute wait. Then again another 5, then another 7. They had had a lot of orders today with only one grill. They were not accommodating while I was waiting, and after a total of 20 minutes, I received what I thought was my order.

I took my order to my car and looked at it because it felt light. The bag had only half my order. When I went back inside, they told me they forgot to put in a few things and then tried to send me in my way but I checked again before leaving and they still didn't have everything. It took a few more minutes to put the rest of the order together.

Finally got everything home and was excited to eat and everything was cold. The biscuits and sausage gravy were bland and floury. The fruit was drying out and only consisted of banana and orange slices. The cinnamon roll was extremely hard. The breakfast sandwich was tasty, but cold.

Overall, I'm just bummed out. I'm hoping they're just having a bad day, but we probably wouldn't choose this spot again for breakfast. I would have preferred to leave feedback somewhere else, but I couldn't find any link on...
