Reliable quality coffee conveniently located just off 394. Street parking decently available around the intersection of Penn and Cedar Lake Rd. Not my first time here - last time was about 5 yrs ago. Still the same tasty coffee offerings - peaberry, light/med colombian, french roast. I like light roast coffees and the colombian is the right roast and flavor for me. There was a long line but they got everyone through with an impressive swiftness using multiple baristas and cashiers in a fashion reminiscent of an orchestrated concerto. After my meeting on my way back across town I stopped back in for some weekly wrap up emails and lunch. I went for the Tuna Melt which seems overpriced at $10 (though I'm sure rent is plenty hefty in this location). Open-face style with plenty of cheese, chips, and a pickle. For $10 I might have expected more substantial albacore tuna instead of the typical chunk light tuna. A lighter option at a lower price wouldn't be a bad idea, but I get the economics. Overall, it's what it needs to be for a coffee shop with great coffee and plentiful baked goods options. I would avoid eating lunch there again if I could.

The food was good and the portion sizes were mostly reasonable for the price BUT had to dock a couple stars on this because they added a 21% tip onto my order without notifying me. There were only 2 people in my group and we ordered at the counter. There was no visible signage anywhere in the restaurant that they would do this. I’m all for getting rid of tipping culture and adding the tip into the list price of the entree so that employees get fair wages but I am NOT for false advertising. I was really confused until I requested my receipt to review my purchases and I was so frustrated that it ruined the first half of my meal.

First time stopping by, I’ve driven by this place so many times for years and I’m so happy I finally came. The best part? I got a French soda and it was delicious! They have cream in them so I got lavender flavor and it was so good I wanted another one. I want to stop by again to try one of their sandwiches and other drinks. Staff was so kind too. They were beyond friendly and mentioned that they genuinely love working there. The worst part? Can’t complain. You do have to find street parking but it wasn’t hard to find a spot.

I’m not gonna lie this place is become like a therapy spot for me after a particularly grueling week at my job. I love to come in and order a green tea latte and maybe a pistachio muffin and just catch up on my scheduling, or call somebody. The workers are always so incredibly nice, there’s one person who always remembers my name, which is so sweet. They genuinely care about their customers, which is what makes this place stand out.

It’s also like a very diverse and inclusive environment with a trendy city vibe, and you’ll have literally everybody from every walk of life there. Like one day, I sat down into my left was a lady giving a palm reading, and to my right was two people having a Bible study, and by the bar was a group of Somali teenagers giggling about something, and in the corner was a businessman, making phone calls!!! And because of it’s location, there’s always somebody working in education chilling there too, which is really cool. It’s always an interesting and cool spot to be.

The food is also really great and worth the price and I again adore the Green tea latte. ...

The chai latte tasted like oat milk which is not my favorite. My daughter had a turtle mocha which was richer than what she is used to with an intense chocolate flavor. I loved it! We had a veggie hummus sandwich. This was fresh and tasty. Their system has staff calling out the item ordered and leaving it at the bar. Someone took my daughter's coffee, then complained it was the wrong drink to staff. Staff quickly replaced it and made my daughter a new coffee. It might be helpful if staff called out name of person ordering vs drink. The atmosphere was lively, had a good community feel. The man calling out drinks was approachable, had a voice easy to hear, staff was quick, excellent friendly. We were not sure what to do with our plates when done. We will go back giving it a...
