In response to my post, you stated our order was put in at 11:39, but we ordered at 11-11:10! We have time shots from texts we sent. It took her 30 MINUTES to enter our order. Thank you for confirming what we all thought to be the case. We were upset because we had been promised to speak to you (the owner) twice at this point with no visit to the table from anyone. The waitress came over to tell us you would comp the meal SHE COMPLETELY FORGOT TO ENTER IN AFTER FORGETTING TO ENTER OUR ORDER FOR 30+minutes. Our bill was $150+, so I did absolutely tell her more should be comped than one meal and one disgusting side of gravy that she described as “southern gravy” which is was definitely not. Happy to give you a call to discuss, but your server clearly dropped the ball and then your entire staff acted like we were the a**holes for being upset about it. She should have owned up to holding entering our order for over 30 minutes instead of acting like she couldn’t care less about our concerns. Happy birthday could have waited for 30 minutes until after the rush. Not after your server failed to enter an order for almost as long as you just confirmed it took us to eat and pay (after waiting for the missing plate to also be entered and brought out finally). So I appreciate you being so “generous” as to comp the fully missed meal (as it should have been), but it was literally THE LEAST you could do.
Creepy restaurant with horrible service and staff. We were told the owner would come by and she never did. The food took over an hour and some of the order was forgotten. The waitress clearly forgot to put in the order and then forgot one of the party members entire order. They didn’t care about any of it and still gratted 18%. They TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS at an hour fifteen of our food wait to sing happy birthday in the kitchen IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BREAKFAST RUSH. When you say the owner is coming (two people said it) and they NEVER show up, you see how much they truly care about hospitality and their customers. The answer is not even slightly. One of the worst restaurant experiences of my life and I’ve been working in restaurants since age 14. Do...
Read moreVery popular family dining with a small indoor waiting area, a 4-seat bar, and mostly 2-top and 4-top tables and 4-top booths. Set in a lovely, modest, quiet, middle class residential neighborhood about 15 minutes from MSP. The decor is reminiscent of a midwest grandma who's not quite a hoarder but keeps making room for more kitschy tchotchkes - it's very cheesy, but adds to the ambiance. Four lovely, friendly ladies working service and they are attentive and good at their jobs. All ages eat here - obviously mostly white, overweight people, but some of the staff is Latino and there was at least one asian customer. It's traditional, midwest fare (for breakfast), plus a well-constructed selection from "south of the border," midwest American style. Most of the backside of the (breakfast) menu is filled with pancake and waffle options, plus nice treats like mimosas and other adult brunch beverages. I ordered the Greek Omlette (feta, kalamata olives, spinach, and I added sauteed mushrooms and onions), which came out as a scramble (not an omlette) and served with deep fried potato cubes that are quite crisp and tasty. The scramble would have been mediocre, except that all the ingredients seemed very fresh and they use copious amounts of excellent-quality kalamatas. I added a side of chicken sausage which is very standard midwest salty and peppery and slightly better than mediocre. The guy next to me at the bar asked for ranch, which they do not have, but the server offered their homemade chipotle sauce that I added to my order as well and it is AMAZING! It comes warm in a big cup and has fantastic smokiness and an excellent combination of spicy kick with tanginess. It paired perfectly with everything I ordered. People, that chipotle sauce is really darn good! It's so good, it turned an otherwise mediocre food experience into an absolutely worthwhile trip. The excellent service, reasonable prices, and entertaining knickknacks all contributed to a lovely midwest breakfast dining experience. I definitely recommend, especially if you want traditional midwest breakfast fare with a few...
Read moreI don’t remember how this place ended up on my saved “Want To Go” lists, but I’ve must of seen someone post it and it looked good. Sunday I happened to be nearby looking for food and decided to stop by cause I LOVE breakfast at anytime. Upon walking in I was greeted by an all female staff (except the cooks) I think and they were friendly. I was riding solo so they sat me right at the bar in the front. My first impression was the decor was waaaay to busy, literally decorations everywhere, all walls, ceilings, ledges, etc. Very eccentric but that is probably the vibe they are going for and what draws people here. The menu has lots to chose from which is a good thing, except regular French toast which was disappointing. I ordered the apple bacon bits pancakes, scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes. The pancakes were fluffy and covered the entire plate and tasty. The potatoes were crispy and seasoned well. The scrambled eggs over cooked and bland. Overall 4/5 for the breakfast. All the sides are a la carte ($2-$5 each) which adds up quickly in these types of establishments. Even being seated next to all the waitresses it still took a WHILE to just get water refills, my waitress was pretty popular and had alot of regulars. Overall a good breakfast meal, ran me about $22 without getting a drink. I was so full from the short stack pancakes I had to take a cat nap in my car lol. I would visit again with friends so I can try more of the menu and have mimosa’s.
Tip for waitresses: I watched a few of them pouring the champagne in the glass in an upright position where most of it turns to foam. You can get more champagne then foam if you tilt the glass while pouring like a beer. Probably will save you a good chunk of change and extend the...
