Stopped by today as we were walking around the lake and decided to have a drink and chill for a while. Drinks were great and service was equally good. I really appreciated the number of vegan options and variety they had. The vegan buffalo bites were the consistency of falafel but taste similar to buffalo wings. The seating is ample and partially covered, the view of the lake is excellent, and you didn't have to wait long for your food. The Painted Turtle is a great addition to the food options associated with the lakes, and could easily rival Sea Salt as the superior option in 2024 when...

The painted turtle had been open for all of two days when I visited, but they are already churning out excellent food. I had the Best in show chicken sandwich. It was a solid medium spice with delicious flavor. The tots on the side were light and crispy and worth the upcharge. I would say that the menu is better than Sandcastle's was at the same price.
