They have an option to order online. One Friday in Sept, I made an online order at 9am because I had a busy work day ahead of me and didn’t want to forget to order for guests coming by that night. I specified in the order that I would pick it up around 6PM.
I received an email confirmation of my order.
I walked in and went to the counter explaining I had an online order. I gave my name however they could not find my order. I told them what I ordered and they said they never received my order. They specifically stated, in person, that online orders that come in before they open at 11AM sometimes don’t go through. I showed them the email I received however they said it wasn’t a confirmation order. Even though the email had an order number, it apparently wasn’t a confirmation email and was not valid. So apparently I was supposed to get a second email. They stated that I should have received a different email that was a confirmation of the order received. So I had to reorder with them and they were kind enough to give me a discount.
While I was waiting, I checked my bank account to see that there was a pending charge from the online order I made at 9AM and one for the reorder I just made. They stated that if the first pending charges went through the next week, to call them and get a refund.
I waited a whole week before I called them. The person I got on the phone stated they weren’t authorized to give me a refund but took my name and number along with a message of ask for a refund. They stated the general manager would call me back. Two weeks go by and still no call. I called twice before I got a hold of the general manager. When I mentioned I left a message, they didn’t respond to why they never called.
I went ahead and explained my situation providing the date I ordered so they could look up the charges. He stated that he would have to go look into it. He asked if I would prefer a call or email confirming the refund and I stated I preferred a phone call. A week went by and I had not received a refund or call. At this point it had been at least a month since this incident occurred. Tired of being the proactive one trying to resolve the issue, I ended up having to call my bank to fix this mess.
I ordered again online during business hours. The person who brought my order brought the food in a timely manner. However I checked my email and once again, only received one email with an order number again about my order. There was no additional email about “confirming” my order. Only one email, not a second email received like the employees stated there should have been last time I went in.
These experiences have left a negative impact on me and I choose not to order from this establishment again. It should not have taken at least a month to get a hold of someone and try to get a refund. I received a confirmation email despite an employee saying it wasn’t a confirmation email. This wasn’t a great experience and look forward to other...
Read moreNordeast is full of little mom and pop places that usually go out of their way to make sure their customers are happy, and Parkway Pizza on Johnson Street is no exception.
Everytime I eat there, I am served by a generally decent waitstaff and receive really good food.
Generally clean location with table, takeout and delivery service, with on street parking, or lot parking across the street.
Sometimes I feel that the combinations they come up with for their pizzas aren't my thing, and find that a simple cheese pizza works. I wish the vegan pizza combos were more exciting than they have, but I have other places to eat at for my vegan crave days.
Love most of the vegan pasta and food items, love love love the salty tart and super cheesy artichoke dip.... It's Uber thick and NOT diplike, but who cares when you're shoving the tasty goodness in your face. (Pictured from delivery order. This stuff thickens with time.)
As for this place offering the BEST pizza, I've had hit or miss pizza here. The Pico de Gallo pizza (pictured) not my favorite. I love pico, but adding beans and corn, I can do without, and I had to add jalapeños to bring the flavor. And I also was not a fan of the vegan artichicken. I'm just not a fan of vegan ''meats''. I would appreciate a smokey ''mozzarella'', artichoke, onion and wild mushroom combo for a vegan or regular pizza, but again, combos there don't always make sence or are lacking in general.
Love the artichoke deluxe, spicy garlic chicken (could use more garlic) and the Minnehaha Greek as a vegan pie.
I have only had the spicy Italian hoagie, which, go figure was salty, but really pretty tasty.
Anyway Parkway is really a decent local pizza...
Read more5.8 (out of 10). Taste's like Frozen Pizza w/ A Healthier crust. Decent Italian sausage. But as far as their actual Pizza itself goes {Pizza that needs Salt}- I wouldn't reccomended Prkwy Pizza NE Mpls to anyone! An I've had it thrice now.
All 3 times the pizza was undercooked! Or you could argue; that their cheese is of such low quality- it coagulates & doesn't melt (or cook) properly in conjunction w/ the crust.. Or it doesn't melt properly because of the abundance of sauce! Were talking like 3 ladell's of it, on one 16" pie. Yup,,, WAAAAY TO MUCH SAUCE! Plus The cheese itself has no flavor or stringy viscosity to it. An I even ordered extra cheese in my most recent & final visit to Parkway Pizza.
In conclusion, around North East MPLS, Pizza is like the board game Monopoly. Boardwalk costs alittle more, because Boardwalk is where Broadway lives (Broadway pizza). An Why buy "Park Place" (Parkway Pizza), when "Boardwalk" is available.
If Your in Minneapolis and want pizza. Get Davannis', Get Broadway, Get Red Savoy, Get Galactic, Get Pizza Man (Great Sauce, Best Cheese Bread), Get Taysty's (needs salt), Hell even get Domino's on 19th & Johnson (2 med. Pie's for under $20). All of which I'll be entertaining before I ever go back to Parkway Pizza. Where the staff did...
