Jeremiah's Italian Ice — Restaurant in Mint Hill

We absolutely love Jeremiah’s! Delicious flavors, normally fast service and a great time for everyone! HOWEVER- We’re very disappointed with our experience today. There were four or five workers and only one worker was doing in store orders. That means the one worker (who informed us it was their first week) was taking orders for a line outside the door while also making all of the gelati’s. In all of the time I have been a customer here, I have never experienced one person practically running the entire store, usually there are multiple people manning the front! 2 of the workers seemed preoccupied cleaning the bathroom instead of helping the line. (We saw them later up front after the rush was already gone.) I understand that call outs and under scheduling are inevitable, but it is the managers job to ensure issues such as this are taken care of, and I am disappointed that instead they put the workers in a stressful and difficult position. Additionally, when we went outside to sit and eat, the music was absolutely blasting and it was hard to hear eachother over the speakers. I suggest possibly turning it down just slightly! Jeremiah’s Italian Ice in Matthews, outside of Charlotte, was a novel experience—a mix of Italian ice and ice cream—who knew it can lead to a lot of piquant flavors? We visited on a Friday evening and it wasn’t busy.

We got:

Peanut Butter Cup: Imagine a layering of Peanut Butter Italian Ice and Chocolate ice cream with the extra(too extra) decadence of chocolate chips. If you’re into peanut butter in your sweet treats, this might be for you.

Mango: The mango Italian ice with the soft serve on top was a great way to conclude the long week. The mango flavor really came through.

The staff also offered us some complimentary Oreo icecream sandwiches which we thought was a sweet gesture.

They’ve a lot of other flavors including strawberry, orange and much more.

Seating is available both inside and outside. That it’s located in a strip mall means there’s a lot of parking outside. I’ll...

This is the most delicious creamy ice cream for a chocolate and vanilla swirl I can ever recall having. I ordered the swirl in a plain small cake cone (not what you're thinking) like you would get at McDonald's vanilla ice cream cone and it was fantastic. Last time I had their combo cone with the Italian ice and it was good at first until the 2 flavors started melting, which didn't take long and it kinda ruined it for me, so I decided next time I'll only order either the Italian ice or only the soft serve ice cream and it is SUCH good soft serve ice cream. Next time I want only the chocolate with no vanilla cause that chocolate is incredible. Anyway, go here, it's really neat, the staff is absurdly nice, and I'd love to see this place expand...
