I am wondering which one I should start with, their out of this world flavorful dishes, their generous portions, or their love for what they do and making you feel like you are dining with your family.
This is one of perhaps 3-4 restaurants out of 1000+ that I have visited in my life that I felt like the owner/manager/chef, (a Palestinian lady and I guess her son who run the show together) treat you like their own family and you can tell they enjoy feeding you with their masterpiece food, as if you are their son or brother.
I visited there like 3 times, and every time the food was above and beyond, I love lamb and tried lamb qozi, kabsah and mandi, all great!
Once I was there and they got some freshly out of oven baked pastry with ground meat and vegetables inside, which I think in Russian is called pirashki , but I forgot what is called in Arabic, and this lady just gave some to every customer to try, a sign that she cooks out of love.
I wish I lived nearby to give them more business as they are simply good people with good homemade quality food!
The only thing is that I hope they don't use one-time-use plastic table cover. That is too much plastic turned to trash for each customer. Change that at least after every 20th customer.
Anyhow, I wish them the best, and will definitely be back if...
Read moreYOU NEED TO EAT HERE!!!! We had the sampler platter (10/10), katusha (10/10) l, and THE KEBBEH (a favorite dish of mine!)
The Kebbeh was incredibly well seasoned! It earthy and salty with a hint of sweetness and it’s extenuated by the PERFECT COOK! The outside is PERFECTLY crispy, with a soft inside!
The platter provides a WONDERFUL start to the meal. The baba ghanoush, and the hummus were perfect texture, they give a generous amount of bread, and those little fried bites. Make sure it is to top it off with the Olive at the end! You’ll experience a variety of sweetness, saltines, tanginess, and a variety of herbs! Sooooo filling
If you’re feeling heavy, after all of that carbs, make sure to order the Katusha, which offers a perfectly light and to everything! So vibrant, colorful and refreshing!
Before you leave, make sure that you order an Arabic coffee! It’s like a warm hug on the inside. Warm and spicy, no creamer needed, just order a little sugar. It’s like drinking cinnamon roll!
The whole time, upbeat and traditional music is playing, you can see everything that cooks are doing and every single day looks like it belongs to a Michelin star restaurant!
This is definitely going to become Mishawaka’s best Secret! I will definitely be...
Read moreI couldn't tell you how the food was here because we were kicked out. Yes, they had a sign outside that said "No pets;" however, my dog is NOT a pet. He is an ADA certified service animal, and LEGALLY they cannot turn us away from service.
We were so looking forward to eating here, too. I'm a disabled and retired Navy Arabic linguist, so I was excited to take my husband to a place that I heard had great Arab cuisine, too. I thought I'd be able to give him a small taste of some of what I got to eat when I was in the Middle East. But I was wrong.
Not only did they tell us to leave, but they were very angry, demeaning, disrespectful, and rude -- it was like I was back in a stereotypical lunchroom in high school, because some of the customers started laughing at us under their breaths. And quite honestly, I'm unsure if they were that mean to us because of our service dog, or if they were just using him as cover to kick out an interracial gay couple
Sadly, I'm not going back there. They lost a potential loyal customer. And, oh, by the way, our brunch at Alladin's was to die for (all of our friends, AND my service dog, enjoyed it), and we also filed an official ADA complaint with the US...
