The Still Room Restaurant, Bar and Casino — Restaurant in Missoula

I had hoped for an enjoyable dining experience at The Still Room, given its reputation and appealing atmosphere. Unfortunately, what unfolded during my recent visit was a deeply disappointing example of unprofessional service that overshadowed any merits the establishment might possess.

Most notably, The Male bartender and the waitress that were on shift.. appeared to be under the influence of a substance—specifically, they exhibited behavior consistent with intoxication and carried a strong and unmistakable odor of marijuana. Their speech was slurred at times, their coordination noticeably impaired, and their general demeanor lacked the attentiveness and clarity one would expect from staff in any professional setting, let alone in hospitality.

Such conduct is not only inappropriate but potentially hazardous. Restaurants have a responsibility to ensure their employees are in a fit state to perform their duties, especially when interacting directly with guests and handling food and beverages. The failure to uphold even the most basic standard of professionalism significantly marred the experience and raised serious concerns about management oversight and workplace policy enforcement.

To be clear, my intention is not to be punitive, but rather to advocate for a safe and respectful dining environment for all patrons. I would strongly encourage the management to investigate this matter thoroughly and implement appropriate measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

Regrettably, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment and will not be returning unless meaningful...

Back story: I have been in Missoula for two decades. I had been at "The Broadway" probably a dozen times with a "meh" reaction each time. It had probably been 4 years since I had been there. Nice remodel job and updated bathrooms! Now on to the review:

Went on a Sunday during the second week of 2019-2000 NFL. We got there just after they opened at 11 A.M. Easily found a table that had a good view of the game we wanted to watch. Had to have table wiped down as it was sticky from the previous evenings festivities. (Reason for the 3 stars on cleanliness). Very nice selection of micro brews were available. I selected Bayern Octoberfest. My wife ordered a cocktail. We were quickly greeted by our very friendly server (Megan) who took our drink order. She returned with our drinks and water (nice touch not having to ask). My wife said it "was a good pour". I tasted and agreed. 👍 Since we were going to be there for the entire Packers/Viking game, I decided to order the chicken nachos for us. The portion of the plate of nachos was good and not stupid as the toppings were nicely proportional. The taste was really super and the chicken was shredded and excellently seasoned! 👍 (3 dollars for the ramekin of guacamole was a bit steep. Only reason it wasn't 5 stars. Management re-evaluate). The establishment filled pretty quickly but service remained outstanding during the entire time we were there, about 2 1/2 hours. 5 stars. Definitely recommend! Btw, Pack...

We were at this bar all night Saturday celebrating a birthday and spending a lot of money. We were there until close. Mind you we come here all the time for dinner as well. We decided to book a room there for the night and didn’t want to drive home. After checkout, we came back down to the bar the to catch half of a football game before we left. It was pretty mellow in the bar on a late Sunday morning and we were quiet, minding our business, checking out some football scores. After only being there 10 mins, we were told by bar staff that we needed to leave if we didn’t order anything. I didn’t recognize him as a waiter I’ve had there before so I explained to him how much money we already spent there the previous night and how I’m frequent paying customer. Well he just shrugged it off and said it’s policy you order something or you need to leave. I was appalled. So we ordered something to follow their rules. But Really going to kick us out after all the money we already spent there the night previously? Big disappointment. I’ll gladly take my business elsewhere...
