My family and I are frequent Branson visitors, and are always on the hunt for small businesses to support. Crazy Craig’s Cheeky Monkey Bar is our go-to bar in Branson, so it was natural for us to try this place on our most recent trip after they opened.
The atmosphere is very familiar, with a hearty “Welcome to the Sports Bar!” From the staff as you enter (if you’ve been to the Cheeky Monkey, you know that I mean!) and the restaurant is well decorated with murals and memorabilia. The menu is well-thought and robust.. and after 3 visits over 4 days my family tried a good portion of it! We liked EVERYTHING! Trust me when I say, that NEVER happens.
We tried the bbq wings, called the Technical Fowl Bites, bone in and bone out- both are juicy and delicious. The breading isn’t too thick on the bone out, which happens sometimes. The chicken is tender and full of flavor inside. They brine and smoke the bone in wings, and the effort they put into the prep definitely shines through in the flavor that bursts forth in every bite.
Next up we had the Spicy Chicken Tender Melt… This authors personal fan favorite! It is melt in your mouth, make your taste buds dance for joy DELICIOUS. The chicken tenders are tossed in honey sriracha sauce, served on grilled sourdough with pickles, pepper-jack cheese and mayonnaise. I finished the dang thing both times I ordered it, even though I shouldn’t have, because it’s just THAT GOOD. I could go on for days about it.. it’s sweet and spiced, but not the sort of spicy that has you reaching for a glass of milk. It’s enjoyable for the novice spice enjoyer, like my daughter, as well as those who can breathe fire like myself. We all tried it to accurately gauge the spice level, because you can’t trust MY opinion alone on that account. Our conclusion was 2.5 out of 5 peppers. I ordered tater tots on the side.. and they paired very well.
My son ordered the children’s white cheddar Mac and cheese. It is gourmet mac y’all! I would order a bowl of it for myself and be content, seriously!
The cheeseburger we tried was juicy and flavorful and quite simply one of the best we’ve ever had, anywhere!
The tenderloin sandwich is a gigantic juicy hunk of meat that melts in your mouth as your eyes roll back in your head in foodie ecstasy! The fries we ordered with it deserve their own paragraph! They are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Well seasoned, and delectable.
The appetizer we tried was the fried pickles. They are thick cut, perfectly battered and served with their scrumptious house-made ranch dressing.
The Out of Bounds Nachos are out of this world! A gigantic portion of chips, seasoned ground beef, white queso, and refried beans. We ordered the salad portion of the nachos on the side since some of our family members don’t like those ingredients on it. We enjoyed it a lot. Wouldn’t change a thing!
Finally, we tried the upside down pineapple cheesecake. This dessert is a true culinary experience! It is sweet and savory, but not overwhelming so.
Overall, we very thoroughly enjoyed visiting Crazy Craig’s Sports Bar 3 times in 4 days (shoutout to McKenzie for her AMAZING service!!!!) and HIGHLY recommend you make this fabulous restaurant a staple of your trip to Branson, or routine when going out if local. You won’t regret...
Read moreCrazy Craig's is a must stop whenever we're in town. It's a non-touristy authentic home town bar and grill where not just the staff, but even the local patrons make you feel welcome! The food is all hand made and absolutely delicious. The portions are large and I've never left without needing a to-go box. Crazy Craig's beer is served ice cold and his unique variety of signature mixed drinks are tasty and never disappoint. No matter the day, there is always something going on like a light hearted pool tournament (no experience required!), trivia night, karaoke, live music and on and on. This is all set to a background soundtrack of classic music that makes you want to sing-a-long from your table and many often do! Crazy Craig's is nothing fancy but most definitely worth the drive out of downtown Branson, across the Hollister bridge and up the hill! Oh, and if you get Missy as your waitress the you are one lucky customer. ...
Read moreThe staff all greet you with smiles and a TON of energy and enthusiasm!! For dinner I had the MaC N Cheese Burger and the queso corn as my side. The burger was cooked to perfection, the noodles were soft and fluffy and the provolone that topped the sandwich was running off of every side! The corn was nice and crisp with hints of peppers and was the perfect compliment to my sandwich. I also had one of their signature cocktails ( The Knock Out Punch). Came in a tall 16 oz glass, impressive mix of sweet and tart with nice color and presentation!!! The music was an awesome Playlist of classic rock and was just loud enoughto hear but not too much to drown out a conversation, all the TVs (I counted 14 in total) had a different game of some sort on. Very clean and...
