El Tenampa Taqueria & Groceries — Restaurant in Missouri

Didnt really care for the place. I got a taco salad and it was OK, too much lettuce and not enough of the other fixings. My husband got chicken tacos and it was just chicken, onions and cilantro. ( my husband is now laying in bed sick to his stomach) The chicken had taco seasoning on it but was very dry. Some of the menu was crossed out. They didn't have the ingredients to make a margarita. They didn't have a card machine so you could pay so I had to go next door to get cash out of the ATM. They haven't been open very long and you would think they would have everything they would need to run smoothly. The service was OK, our waitress looked like she was 12 years old. The first night we went, the food was absolutely excellent. The server could barely understand English, but luckily with a couple passing interpreters, we got it figured out.

The second time we went, we showed up at 830 on a Monday night. We walked in, and even though there were 13 people sitting around the place, the server told us they were closed. .... pretty upsetting when you've been looking forward to it for a few hours and there's no fault of your own to attribute this upsetting set of events to. I tried the food here about 2 years ago and it was great, loved the chimi supreme and the gorditas but never went back cause it’s a bit far from me. But they just started selling tacos al pastor outside, from the actual trompo like every place in Mexico which is where I’m from and wow, they were AMAZING. Pretty much just like back home. It looks like they will only sell these in Thursday’s (restaurant with their whole menu is open all week) but I can definitely see me going back...
