My family has eaten at Tres Hombres many many times, they are only open 3 nights a week, Thursday, Fri and Sat from 5 till close. There food is usually good, their wait staff is usually efficient and they are always busy. But last night ( Thursday not the weekend )I had a less then average dining experience that started off with the hostess being totally out of place with here rude comments. We had a party of 4 adults, an 8 year old and a new born ( 1 month old ) she told me it only be a couple minutes till we could be seated and handed me a buzzer. There where only 3 couples of 2 or 4 people in front of us. I checked back with her after 20-25 minutes at which time I waited another 10 minutes in front of the hostess stand where she just chatted away about personal stuff with some guy and ignored me even standing there. Then when I ask how much longer she said a couple minutes and I then replied that is what you said 30 minutes ago and she then smarted off and said “a couple minutes here is like 2 hours”. Then she proceeded to tell me she has been the hostess there since the seventh grade. She looks to be 16 or so. This is for all you business owners and fellow employees at the Lake have respect for your customers ( they are why you are profitable or not) and for God’s sake employers monitor your employees that interact with your customers. As a business owner I would have FIRED her on the spot. FYI it took in excess of 1 hour to get served so being tired of waiting to get seated and then an hour for food to be served and full of chips and salsa we took 3/4 of our...
Read moreI’ve been here about a handful of times and have never been disappointed. Our friends are obsessed with Tres. Any time they get to pick a couples night out, this is where we go. My husband and I arrived early and decided to hang at the bar while we waited for our group. Ordered chips & salsa and beers. It was already busy (around 5pm) but not overly crowded yet. The staff was friendly and engaging with patrons. Once our group of 8 was all there, we were seated. We were in the mid section of the restaurant (I guess it would be the 3rd level, just below the top section). We had not ever sat in this section before but it was cozy. Our server was to our table quickly and had our drinks out shortly after. We ordered a variety of foods from chimichangas, to sliders. Everyone was happy with their choices. I can’t remember if mine was the fried burrito or chimichanga but it was sooooo good. The beans were meh and same with the rice but I’m really picky about beans and rice so it’s not completely Tres’s fault. This was the first time I had a dessert here. OMG... I’ve honestly never had a good dessert at a Mexican restaurant until tonight. A MUST order!!! (See the pics) Prices are reasonable here. We keep...
Read moreMissouri is well known for its scenic beauty and fishing. It's also known for white people. Being from houston, texas has quite different tasting mexican food than Missouri and eating here was infact a new taste that would have to be acquired by those who haven't ever tasted it yet. I have only 2 complaints: the sanitation level of the place, and how the food was presented. When the tables were cleaned off, the food was wiped right on to the floor to be stepped on, scooted, smeared, and carried all around the restaurant. There was just food all over the floor. My 2nd complaint is how the food was prepared. While sitting at our table, we noticed that the chips being given to us were being scooped out of a bowl. It would have been fine if i didn't noticed they were being scooped out bare handed by each and every waiter after they touch the bottom of the tray and wiped off tables. Not once did i see one wash their hands before grabbing chips then serving them. Other than that, it was alright for white-xican. Also, Sarah, one of the waiters, was probably the nicest waiter there, she understood jokes and had an amazing attitude. She made...
