Attended the 2023 chamber sponsored Valentine dinner and show. Chose the Marketplace for the meal. It was grossly underwhelming. Nut, cheese and cracker plate looked thrown together by a 3 year old, the salad had a terrible vinaigrette on it with no other choice of dressing ( in Nebraska, or anywhere in areas where you have a high concentration of ag related people, Ranch should be an option), the bread plate of tasteless bread paired with equally tasteless Alfredo dipping sauce was nothing to write home about. But then came the main course of Beef Wellington, garlic mashed skin on potatoes, and lobster ravioli. I have never seen a main course of food be served with a theme of white before. The plates were white, the ravioli was white, overcooked and had that same tasteless Alfredo sauce on it, the potatoes were cold and underwhelming, and the Beef Wellington was a disaster. Usually this delicacy has a beautiful brown crusted pastry wrapped around a beautiful cut of medium rare tenderloin. Not at the Marketplace. It comes out with a nasty mushroom sauce poured over an undercooked dough, on top of an overcooked piece of meat. To top the meal off, there were strawberries dipped in a chocolate that was not set up (kind of messy to eat with no utensils), bitter chocolate truffles that, in my husband's words, looked like elk droppings, and freeze dried strawberries dipped in a huge amount of dark chocolate. An odd thing happened too. We were sitting talking and all of a sudden, this man came and started taking pictures of us. Didn't ask to take the photos, just did it. So weird. Anyway, if I could give 0 stars for this experience, ...
Read moreYOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE!! We were coming through town and found this place based on reviews from google. Wasn’t sure what to expect but based on other reviews I read, I had a feeling we were in for a treat for a good meal. And OMG seriously AWESOME food. I have been to a lot of speculator restaurants in different countries around the world but what was different about Marketplace & Company Pesto Fine Italian was that EVERY single piece of the meal from the appetizer to the wine to the main course and the desserts was absolutely as amazing as the previous course and FRESH. This place is 100% about the dining experience and the food. Don’t go if you want in & out service as you truly will not be able to enjoy the homemade food the way you should experience it. Mindy (the owner) was a perfect hostess in every way. Great service, knows her wine and her cooking. Ask her for recommendations as she will not disappoint! I will definitely go out of my way to go back to this gem!!! Thank you Mindy for a fabulous and memorable experience! :) I look forward to seeing what surprise you serve...
Read moreI’m originally from the Denver area but my mom and dad just moved to Nebraska.. we were looking for something yummy to eat and came across this cute little place.. It is a restaurant but it also carries fun little retail items in it… Not only that but they offer so much more then what I just mentioned. We came in to eat some of their Italian food though! We met the owner Mindy and she was the most kind hearted person I have ever met in my entire life. She made us feel so welcomed and special with her genuine care. You can tell she has a passion for what she does and it shows in how she treats her customers as well as her out of this world recipes. I’ll definitely be heading back to the big city and telling everyone about my experience here. Thank you again Mindy for treating us like family without even knowing us prior to coming in.. not only that but again for your incredible food! I will definitely be back in and I’m sure my parents will be stopping in...
