Made a reservation to have a nice Valentine's Day dinner with my fiancée, the hostess and wait staff did great. I ordered shrimp, which was fine no complaints, my fiancée the Pineapple Seafood. Her food took an extreme amount of time to arrive, slightly understandable being a large platter, but when it got there, it had a few things on it that weren't in the description. One being squid/octopus, which neither of us can eat. We asked the wait staff what happened, she said that it used to have octopus on the old menu and whoever made it, did it from that menu, and she said they would fix it. She took it back, and no more than 10 minutes later, it is brought back out. Not soon after we noticed it was the same plate, she had the same misshapen crab leg. After eating for a bit, my fiancée bit into pineapple, finding oyster shell inside, there's oyster in the dish so no big. The big thing was moments later we found the same mollusk parts in the dish, meaning they only took it back and scrubbed through it, removing only what they could find. As anyone knows, especially anyone with an allergy, this is a no no. Thankfully our reaction to eating it is only mild, but something like that can be catastrophic to the wrong person. I feel the manager we spoke to after knows that and he didnt seem to happy either about it. So now here my fiancée and I are, missing work with food poisoning. With it being Valentine's Day, one can understand it being busy. I also am in the customer service industry and when you're busy, you do get frustrated, but in no circumstance should you just "brush off" food that shouldn't have been there in the first place. All in all, the manager and wait staff, you did your job. Sadly though, we can't get back the time or money lost due to the mishap. At least we will remember this...
Read moreOrdered here for the first time instead of El Vaquero (their quality has gone down here lately). Absolute disappointment. Enchiladas Verde had zero verde sauce. I mean, how do you mess that up? Corn tortillas completely uncooked, never even looked at a pan. "Guacamole salad" had so much sour cream I didn't see the guacamole was missing. Ordered two sides of pico, got shorted one. The pineapple in my Al Pastor was cut too large and there was so much of it that I really couldn't discern where the pork was. The pineapple was also uncooked, so I couldn't eat it because I'm allergic to bromelin. Everything was wading in red onion, including long slices that made eating almost impossible. Beans, rice, meat... all were practically flavorless, even the chips lacked salt, and they were cold to boot. The best thing I have to say about this place is the free salsa isn't watered down. Massive waste of $50. Could have spent that money on a veritable feast at Taco Bell! Luckily, I grew up in a part of Illinois where you could eat real authentic Mexican food around every corner, so I know I can be picky sometimes, but this is honestly some of the worst YT Mexican food I've ever had. I'm sure Fiesta is far worse, but I wouldn't know since they cater to toxic customers and I wouldn't be caught dead there. After several years of living here, I've just come to the conclusion that Missouri is a wasteland for foodies. I can make amazing enchiladas for pennies at home, but I don't always have the energy. Whelp, with this experience I think I can just stick to homemade and save...
Read moreFood was very good, wait staff was very good, but management was out of control. Went for a birthday celebration with a friend. Had a friend with us who happens to be allergic to tomatoes. We didn’t realize that almost everything on the menu has tomatoes and it wasn’t listed on the menu as an ingredient. Firstly, ingredients should be listed on the menu, but when we asked the waitress about this she was very nice and tried to find us other options. A man (who I believe was the manager) came over and began yelling at us that it was our fault that he ordered something with tomatoes and he should have told our waitress. My friend had only taken two bites of his food and was still going to be charged for it. We asked for his meal to be comped since he didn’t eat the food due to his allergy. He continued to argue with us up until we went to go pay and told us that we weren’t going to pay for our food but was still yelling at us that it’s our fault. We wanted to pay for our food but him being spiteful and petty would not allow us to. We just wanted to be comped for the meal that wasn’t eaten. We weren’t originally upset with staff. But it’s clear that the manager is a completely unreasonable man who has no concern or compassion for costumers, and as a result lost money and what would be long term costumers because he couldn’t control his temper and tongue. This restaurant will continue to lose customers if they are treated anything like we were today. Thanks for ruining my friends...
