Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Mobile

I went to the Dairy Queen on Springhill Ave in Mobile, AL. I pulled up around 9:50 waited and waited at the drive through nobody would answer the microphone. So I pulled up to the window. Workers were still there with headsets on and looked at me but wouldn’t come to the window. I finally got a workers attention and he said they were closed. I said how it says y’all close at 10 and I have been waiting for 10 minutes. He goes and gets the manager. The manager came to the window and opened it and said they were closed. I said it’s not even 10 pm like it states they closed at. He said their time said 10:15 pm so they had been closed. I opened my phone to show him it wasn’t 10:15 pm. I looked up on the screen they have that shows the orders and it said 10:02 at that time caue we already waited 10 minutes. I asked him for the district managers number and when he came back with the number I pointed out the time on the screen as he told me their time said 10:15 pm. He looked at it and said ok and and I told him well obviously your time isn’t 10:15 pm cause your screen says 10:02 pm. I took the pictures as I waited for the district managers number I noticed the time on the screen so I took a picture. I see this location has a tendency to close earlier than they are supposed to! I also think the number he gave me for the district manager wasn’t the correct one. If the location closes at 10 they shouldn’t be closing early just because they feel like it. I don’t ever leave reviews but I felt inclined to let the owner or manger know what’s going on at this location. This was the second time I went through the drive through at 8pm (they close at 10pm) and was told “the system is down, we can’t take any orders.” To be honest it sounded like the same voice as the first time, which was like two weeks ago. So the “system” should’ve been fixed. This time they said “we’re only taking door dash orders” so clearly your system is not down. You just didn’t want to take my order. I don’t care that much about getting take out but I thought it was strange that at a location that so convenient on my way home that I was told the exact same thing two weeks apart. Either fix your “system” or advertise you’re only open to door dash. Or hire people who...

I love Dairy Queen but if you are white be prepared to wait a little longer. This place serves the African Americans first everytime I have stopped in to get ice cream or blizzards. And they order after us even food orders placed after us. The staff will go out of the way to make the white folks wait longer. So if you are white and want service go to the Dairy Queen on University Blvd near the South Alabama campus to get your Ice Cream and Blizzards. I hadn't visited this one in over 6 months and still the same customer service. I ordered and paid immediately (during slow time saw 4 staff members) yet had to wait for drive thru and a group of colored people to get their food before my Blizzards were made.
