I’ve never had such rude service in my life. I brought my dad all the way from Daphne for “Father’s Day” on the Monday after the holiday because we had heard so much about this place. It was 2-3 in the afternoon.
Our waitress took our drink order, then came back with drinks. She took our food order. A different server brought us our food. I got done eating pretty quickly, and our server walked by and asked if I wanted a box. I said yes please. She came back by to check on us and drop off my box, and my dad told her I wanted a banana pudding. She sighed and rolled her eyes. Clearly we had inconvenienced her. I said “can I please get it in a to-go box.” She looked at me like I was entitled and rude. She dramatically slammed a banana pudding on my table. My dad said “I’m sorry, but can I get a box too please? I thought I was gonna finish, but I can’t. The server growled and shook her head as she walked off. I said “I’ll take a to go cup too please for my drink.” She WHIPPED around and said VERY loudly and sarcastically “IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN GET YOU SIR.” I was shocked, and I looked at her and started laughing. She growled and scowled at me.
I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. Clearly this person didn’t want or expect a tip from me. I can’t imagine why they come to work. Just to make people feel unwelcome and practice being rude to people? She didn’t even deliver our food, and I was in the bathroom when she took my drink order. Which means I only spoke to the woman 4 times. Once to place my food order, once to say yes please I’ll take a a box, once to ask for a box with the dessert we added on, and once to ask for a cup while she was walking by the carryout supplies. I wasn’t overly needy. I would have tipped her $10 on $37 if she had just been remotely polite. I said “please” and “thank you” and called her “ma’am.” I guess she just wanted us to tip her without her actually having to do any work.
The food was hit and miss. The sweet tea wasn’t sweet. The mashed potatoes were instant potato pearls- cheap, artificial flavor and texture. The green beans were canned, but they were very well-seasoned. The mac & cheese was homemade and pretty good with some extra salt. The country fried steak was ground beef, not actual steak shank. It was seasoned well, but I’d rather pay for the real thing and the right texture. The gravy on the “steak” was really good. The roll was frozen premade. The banana pudding was really good (by far the best part of the whole experience).
I’m afraid we won’t back after the awkward experience with the burnt-out waiter. This person should not be employed in customer service. I hate it for the business owner that they have a disgruntled employee driving away their business. I also wish they would use better ingredients and charge a little more. It seems like they’re trying to please their elderly regular lunch crowd by offering the best deal possible instead of the best food possible. I’d rather pay more for...
Read moreToday! I've ordered with this company a couple weeks ago, my coworker and I called our order in (pre-ordered @ 2pm to be picked up at 4:30pm be precise) my coworker went to pickup, it wasn't ready, so she had to wait...got the order.....TODAY, I decided to call and order from here again...even tho it was cooked after the the pickup time...it was pretty good and I was willing to try them again...I pre-ordered again...I ordered at 2pm to be picked up at 4:30 pm...I decided to go pick up today....get there ... "The order is not ready... it'll be ready in 5 minutes"....um...ok, no problem...the atmosphere was pleasant considering it was majority Caucasian customers. I sat down and waited... All these employees passing me by, no greetings, no smiles, straight ignored!! I wait about 10 minutes and finally got up and walked back to the ordering spot. An employee asked if I've been waited on, I stated "I did, I'm waiting on a pick-up order" she states she'll go to the back and see...(the original person who told me 5 minutes NEVER came back to the front) she goes to the back...5 minutes later she brings my 3 orders....I open the first plate, like, 9 macaronies in the slot for the macaroni side (it happened to have been my order on top, all of them in the same bag, stacked) I asked shouldn't it came with a little more macaroni, I was told it was the last in the pot and they wouldn't have time to make more...) I said, "oh, ok" and proceeded to the next order. Apon moving my plate to get to the next, 3 hairs are on top of it. Without even touching the plate, I pointed to them and stated "they're hairs on this plate".....no apologies, no sincerety....just a plain blantant look on her face....and then. She says, "we can rebox it for you" nooooooo, I'd rather you guys just refix our food...." no one moved....no one answered .....they all just looked at me.....I wasted my entire lunch break on a restaurant that does not even show remorse g r their actions....not one care in the world....I am back at work.....late, at that.... without any thing to eat, and two other employees looking at me like I've done something wrong...
Read moreJust to let you know, as much as we used to like Judy's Place, DO NOT EVER go to this restaurant again. After my husband advised the waitress that his food was cold, she copped an attitude and snatched it from the table. She had already forgotten my hush puppies which we had to ask her for. When she returned with his warmed food she tossed it on the table. My husband said ma'am, you don't have to throw my food. To which she replied, "You don't have to be rude to me and speak to me like that. You can leave!" She did not offer to get a manager, or to get another waitress. We asked for another waitress and one of the regular waiters was happy to help us finish our meal. Which was not very pleasant due to the altercation. We asked if we could speak to the manager, and he stated that there was no manager available but he could get the acting manager. When the acting manager came to the table I explained what happened, as my husband was so mad he had stepped outside at this point. He then told me that from his understanding we were always a problem and were not welcomed back. Now my husband was not rude in any way to this woman, and we have only ever had one other problem when going there which was 4 to 6 months ago again, with a rude waitress. Bear in mind we go here at least once a month if not more so. Please don't go to this establishment since apparently their staff doesn't mind sending away good paying customers, and can't serve hot food with a smile, or without having a rude attitude. The food was okay at best, and nothing to brag about, which is not how it used to be years ago. We are not people who like complaining at a restaurant but this was...
