Noah's Hof Brau — Restaurant in Modesto

Went here for my belated birthday dinner. I've always been curious about this place, so I decided to check it out. It's mostly Chinese with some hofbrau stuff like roast beef, turkey, open-faced sandwiches, etc. The egg rolls were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The pork, chicken and beef combination plates all include fried rice and chow mein. The Chinese food was delicious and the portion sizes were decent. My wife & daughter got the open-faced sandwiches (one roast beef and one turkey). These came with mashed potatoes & gravy. You can tell that the mashed potatoes were made from instant potatoes and tasted bland. The gravy was a bit on the too salty side. If you're gonna try this place, I would definitely suggest sticking to the Chinese food menu. The dining room is very basic. The interpersonal skills of the counter staff / cashiers was slightly lacking. Could just be a language barrier or they are just very focused on getting the orders prepared in a timely manner. The restrooms were serviceable, but could have used some attention. All things considered, the Chinese food tasted so wonderful that I will definitely come back again for their yummy...

Been a customer here for years. Won't be back. Parking blocked off out front by neighbors. Walked a block and a half to find Male & female behind counter arguing. REALLY? Ordered food. 6:30pm is 1/2 hr before they close so no hot food. Cold turkey warmed with Luke warm gravy. Ham was microwaved. Since there is no pork gravy or a glaze. I hesitated when asked what gravy. Then the male shouts GRAVY,! YES or NO! Really? I said brown gravy. Ya on ham. And got Luke warm turkey gravy everywhere including vegetables drowned. Apparently they want Nothing to do with customer's in the evening. Or they make enough from the lunch crowd. Either way. When my cash becomes an imposition to the employees/owners. I take my cash elsewhere especially after $28.09 for cold food.

When this place closes it's because the counter no longer cares. If being open till 7pm is too much then maybe close after lunch. Because once you treat a customer that way. They don't come back for...

Zero Star!!! This is way overrated. The reviews are misleading. We thought we would give this place a chance based on reviews from online. What a disappointment!! The man that served us was extremely rude and pushy. He did not say hello. He did not give us time to look at what we wanted to eat from the board. And all he kept saying was "what's your order? What's your order?" This is by far one of the worst place. And you call this Chinese food. The food was terrible. It was old and looked like it had been sitting out for a while. They don't look very sanitary either. Never once did he washed his hands. I don't even think they check the temperature of the food they have sitting out at the counter. They had this huge turkey that didn't even fit their pan that should have been keeping the turkey hot at a safe temperature. You do not want to take a chance at that place. It is very likely you will get sick. I will never recommend this place nor go back to this...
