10th Street Plaza — Attraction in Modesto

Visiting from the Bay Area, reviews indicated this was the place to hang out. Feels bland, mid-90s, nobody there at 7 p.m. except a few people with nothing else to do charging their phones. It's not even a plaza, since the only real exit is back onto 10th street, unless you want to traipse though the municipal parking garage past the signs that say, "Parkers only". This deserted courtyard, opposite the theater's impressive neon façade, is the kind of place, sadly, that makes you understand why George Lucas moved to Marin County and never looked back. Modesto has a great team of volunteers that keep the streets clean. Because of that I enjoy downtown Modesto more than ever. I even used 10th Street plaza as a backdrop for our family photos! Thank you downtown...

Modesto has a wonderful Christmas program and every weekend the month of December there is family night atmosphere at the downtown plaza. Come down in Dec. and have a great time with family...
