Family owned and operated Big Burger is a staple of Molalla, it has been around for decades and provides their unique hamburgers which are reminisce of 50's diners. The bacon cheeseburger is a winner, along with shakes and soft serve ice cream. They are located on the NW corner of highways 213 and 211, and they have a drive thru with entrance on the NW side of hwy. 211 next to a house behind Big Burger. Just a heads up- you will exit with only the option of turning right onto Hwy. 213 (south bound) but there is a safeway shopping center with entrances and exits on the east side of 211 and NE side of 213 so there are ways of getting back on the road northbound if the other 3 options don't work for you. There is a small dining area inside with a few tables, or you could dine outside with a couple of picnic tables under their covered patio. Parking is limited and the drive thru is a little slower than corporate fast food establishments, however this hole in the wall burger joint is popular because of the food, not the amenities. One of our favorite stops when driving thru Molalla, highly...
Read moreThis was just about the best burger I have had in a long time. McDonald's is right across the street, and I got the deluxe, beautiful thick juicy steak burger, with beautiful fresh vegetables, including tomato and lettuce, and all the fixings you can think of, and delicious French fries, that are just right, crisp and gold, and Absolutely Fresh, in clean cooked in clean fresh corn oil I think. Anyway, I really like the flavor of the food, however, I have to report that they did not investigate an incident that occurred when I was present, and a potential Witness. Too young, pretty, and pretty clearly Intoxicated by some substance, girls were there, or during fries or something, and they had an obscene shouting match with a group of local men, regulars, who are not causing any trouble whatsoever. The restaurant ask their paying customers, the men, to leave, which they pleasantly did. The two women were nowhere to be found, and reported them, apparently, for some kind of harassment. It was ridiculous to hear the staff member tell these agreeable gentleman to leave immediately. I was...
Read moreGotta love a small town burger diner. I grew up in this "small town" and Big Burger has always been there. It's like a right of passage to work there as a high school student, in fact I think a majority of the employees are either still in school or just graduated We opted for the bacon cheeseburger. If I'm not mistaken, they serve Coleman beef from the Coleman ranch in town. The lettuce is shredded and the bacon is out of this world. Thick and tasty. We chose their beer battered onion rings instead of the fries and were quite happy with this selection. The girl at the window could have been more attentive to taking our order and less giggly with the boy she was working with but that's what you get when you're dealing with teenagers. Perhaps a little more coaching on workplace professionalism would help her with customer relations which would help her earn tip$ as a result.
Worth the stop for a...
