A 'McDisappointment' in Molalla.. When Spice and Speed Were Just Empty Promises. I've long heard that patience is a virtue, but after my experience at the Molalla McDonald's on December 19th at the stroke of 9:50 PM, I'd say my patience was more fried than the chicken I ordered. Speaking of fried, let's dive into the heartburn of my ordeal - the so-called 'Spicy' Deluxe Crispy Chicken Sandwich.
Expecting a fiery fiesta in my mouth, what I got instead was as bland as a weather report in the Sahara. The spice level was so non-existent, it made vanilla seem exotic. I half-expected to find a 'Missing: Spicy Flavor' sign stapled to the bun. If blandness was a sport, this sandwich would be an Olympian. As if the disappearing spice act wasn't enough, the plot thickened - or should I say thinned?
The crispy factor of the chicken was akin to a soggy autumn leaf. The lettuce seemed like it had taken a personal day, and the tomato slice must have been from a fruit that aspired to be a water balloon. Now, let's paw-nder the side dish fiasco. I had ordered a side of French fries for my dog, who was waiting in the car, dreaming of crispy, golden goodness.
But alas, the wait was so long, my furry friend could have grown potatoes, harvested them, and fried them himself in the time it took. He dozed off, probably dreaming of a world where French fries are served at the speed of light, not the speed of continental drift. The service was slower than a snail on vacation. I think I saw the calendar change months while I waited. By the time I got the fries, my dog had entered his REM cycle, and the fries had lost their charm, limper than a noodle in a yoga class. In conclusion, my evening at McDonald's was a rollercoaster of emotions - from hopeful anticipation to McDisappointment. The only 'happy' in this meal was my eventual departure.
So, to the crew at Molalla McDonald's, I leave you with this thought: if you're going to offer a spicy chicken sandwich, let's make sure it's got enough kick to at least wake a...
Read moreMay 2024 Update: "Please pull around" should be this locations new slogan. Tried to order breakfast here at nine AM. I had to pull around and wait almost ten minutes for one hash brown, which is typical for literally anything you order at this location accept fountain drinks, which ironically they've messed up before also. I've been told to pull around for a quarter pounder, a medium fry, an apple pie, a coffee. God forbid I ever ask for napkins or a ketchup packet, I'll be there until I die waiting. Lol
December 2023 update: Train your cooks better or fix your grill. The quarter pounder wasn't cooked properly. I'd rather not have me or my family get sick (or worse) because someone on grill probably pushed the wrong button. Myself and everyone else in the town are quite used to having to pull around and wait for our food in the drive-thru, like I had to do again for this order, with at least two other cars. It's typically 80 seconds for the 4:1 patty to cook properly on a clamshell flattop. I'd rather wait a few seconds than have me or my family get hurt. I've uploaded pics of the raw burger and the receipt. Figure out if someone needs retraining.
Also, fix your drive-through hours on the McDonald's website. They've been wrong for three years now and Google Maps updates drive-through hours from that website.
Old review 2022: NOT 24 HOURS!! The entire store closes at 11PM every night! Actual hours of operation are Sun-Sat, 5AM to 11PM. (See pics) The drive through is NOT 24 hours and hasn't been for over two years. I'm sure people don't appreciate driving out to this location in the middle of the night when it's closed. There isn't anywhere else in the area for miles that's open. It wastes time and money.
The employees are nice. Bathrooms are clean and there's plenty of parking. The dining area has a nice atmosphere...
Read moreThis was one of the better McDonald's i have visited in recent times. the staff was friendly if not a little wet (it was poring down rain in sheets and they had to have the drive-thru window open) It was last and almost closing time.. they didn't show the least signs of being that annoyed clerk (you know the one when you show up almost at closing and they know there going to get off a little late) the place looked clean and even though they had to make my order from scratch it was well made and hot . tasted better than i remember. look appetizing/ The time it took was relatively quick consider we show up at 5 min to closing , Not a single frown among the staff that we could see. I can't say when the last time we where treated so well an a McDonald's and thats saying a lot, We have to give your staff a 5 star review Best experience in a McDonald in a very long time . Thank you. only thing we didnt like was getting out of the car in the rain only to find the dining room was closed (looked open no closed sign and the hours that are posted are so small you can not see them till your on top of the sign. They should have the hours posted some place or viable to people at night. We Got half soaked just to find out that small detail, We dont count it against the staff, it an administrative issue as far as were concerned so we do deduct 1 star from the dining room Hours we not clearly posted so that a distract of say 10 15 feet like from a car when it poring down rain (hint) you dont have to get soaked to figure it out the dining room is closed. Even with all of the griping about that issue. It really was a over all good visit, Thanks Guys Make sure you tell your boss that you deserve a raise for...
